Great news! I've always liked the look of that building.

The fact that this 1.5 million square foot building sets immediately in front of one of the largest DART rail stations in the entire system should help ensure the success of this major project (DART rail station is on the north side of the building).

I echo your words exactly: this reno is going to be HUGE for the CBD.

It will create a significant new destination in Downtown Dallas and should be the catalyst for additional significant development in the area what with the real estate plays that have been made by Tim Huntington and Ross Perot with their respective prime building sites lined up nearby.

The image above is the latest and most current rendering of the Cesar Pelli designed tower in Downtown's Uptown District that breaks ground this summer.

The latest design is much sexier and far more interesting in its details than the original design that was released with the tower's announcement a year or so ago.

Can't wait to see this beauty rising soon, adding its cranes to the substantial number that are already up in the Downtown area, with more yet to come!

7-11 is moving to Irving, so you can pretty much consider it dead unless One Arts has a replacement tenant already.

I remember when Southland built that skyscraper on Central 30 years ago. Odd to hear that they've pulled up stakes and moved to the suburbs. But I guess a privatization will do that.

One of the things I love about this tower, and there are quite a few of them, is how it seems to be a gateway into uptown, welcoming people into the neighborhood, drawing views and people. Who knows if this is something that would ever actually happen, but man, I sure hope it does!

Is there supposed to be a picture or something? All I see is a small block box with an "x" in it. And you cannot click on it.

That stinks! Yes, it's a rendering of a GORGEOUS two tower complex facing Klyde Warren Park with ample ground floor retail, good looks, etc.

Are you accessing the site with a mobile device? I sometimes don't see photos while on my phone/iPad.
