It is not specified on the site but is that ALL SJ/Freddy/Charlottetown/Deer Lake to Toronto flights or only partial reduction in flight?

I believe it’s all flights.

Woof. I have to travel for work (I work in medicine in the Arctic), glad I just by chance booked through Montreal months ago, though no guarantee those flights will remain. Can't say I see the logic in flights cancelled vs those that were not looking at the list of domestic cancellations.

Well with travel curtailed so much; I hope the YFC renovations can take advantage of this and be a bit more aggressive in their timeline. They probably can't really change much, but I'm sure having fewer people around will make things a bit easier overall.

I noticed out of Moncton that flights to the Caribbean were still heading out. Would this be just for picking up passengers still down there?

Sunwing is offering anyone who shows up a free *available* seat northward, no matter if they flew down with Sunwing or not. So they probably are running flights back and forth just to help get people home for as long as they can/as long as its needed.

That would be nice, but they may not have the money to complete the project, let alone speed it up.

The money has already been committed as far as I know. And it's not like they can leave the terminal building half-finished.

The project will be finished. But with everything else going on, it may end up delayed due to supply issues and/or worker issues. Still, this is what project managers are for; I'm sure they're looking at the big picture and figuring out how to make sure it stays on schedule and if they might be able to speed it up in this situation, or at t he very least not lose ground.

As said, the money is all accounted for. And YFC knows that their numbers WILL rebound eventually. The numbers for this year are going to be unspeakable; and next year probably won't be that great; but within a few years we should be back up to our current levels again and this project will be showing its value.

YFC already has the full amount of $$ in their bank account. So no worries about not being able to pay for it. Not sure where your getting your info but can assure you its wrong.

This Sunwing's Boeing 737 landed at the Moncton airport yesterday from Miami. Another one coming in tonight from Montego Bay, and another from Varadero tomorrow.

Hi, does anyone know if taxis are running from Moncton airport?
Do any have plexi shields between driver and fare? Thank you!

I had to fly yesterday out of freddy, and the plane to Montreal was maybe half full. Now my connection to Toronto and then to Saskatoon both might have had 30 of us on a A320. At least social distancing was possible.

Never like to see a valuable service lost even temporarily, but these are strange times. Flatten the curve everyone, and stay safe.

New Brunswick and PEI are now cut off for air travel

There are no Air Canada flights to any NB or PEI location until May at the earliest. There are still some flights from Halifax and St Johns to Montreal and Toronto (and eachother) but that is it.

Losing ALL the flights is a bit surprising; I would have expected they'd keep a Moncton flight going at least.

*Edit* Looks like Westjet drew the short straw. they are maintaining a Freddy to Toronto and a Moncton to Toronto flight, once per day. They have a Charlottetown to Toronto flight 3x week.

*Edit 2* I misread ACC's site (or they ghost updated it). There is a Montreal to Freddy flight, and 5xweek flights Montreal to Charlottetown so PEI isn't abandoned either.

Which means Freddy has more flights than Moncton now, at least on AC and WJ. Wow....

Volumes are WAY down. I read a post in the Canada section stating that the other day, total PAX through YOW (Ottawa) was 120 (normally over 9,000).

Think of that - only 120 passengers flying into Ottawa on a single day!!!
