Problem is that if the townhouses are sold before the bridge goes in, the townhome owners will then fight hammer and tong to oppose any new bridge that would make it easier to walk to Whole Foods.

I thought my Dearborn Park neighbors would open up the gate on Clark Street once there was something on the other side they wanted to walk to. Instead they put a second lock on the inside of the gate.

Absolutely tragic...

Side note, that Logan Square development (and that neighborhood in general) have changed so dramatically along that corridor this cycle. Hardly recognizable!

Don't know if anyone else caught it, but the two-story future home to Roots Pizza in Printers Row (Polk/Dearborn/Federal)officially landed its permit on 6/30.

i noticed that construction is underway on the old auto repair shop at the SE corner of ashland/lawrence.

after some online digging, i found the rendering below, does anyone know if this is still the current plan/design?

now all we have to do is get rid of the gas stations on the NE & NW corners and we'll have ourselves a proper major street intersection once again.

My friend lives near there in the old converted produce market buildings and his place is nice, but the area leaves a lot to be desired. Hopefully projects like this can make it a tiny bit better.
Right on schedule, ATT was on site this morning at 15th/Blue Island doing utility work and landscape crews are ripping out the trees.

1700 N Western Ave got a new construction building permit issued yesterday. This is going to be 5 stories with 60 units, 29 parking spaces, and ground floor retail. It replaces a used car dealership and lot. Across the street is the new-ish Bucktown Gateway which also replaced something similar. This is just a few blocks south of the 606 - a quarter mile south of the Western Blue Line stop only.
