This shot allows a largely unobstructed view of all of the majors in Philly's Core Skyline which is atypical of most shots, so excellent angle, don't see this angle often especially with the CTC addition.

To my eyes, CTC's spire/lantern is evocative of the Art Deco former WCAU building on Chestnut St, as it appeared before its illuminated spire was truncated due to structural deterioration.

Great find of that old pic of the WCAU building. This is one of my favorites in philly.

I should mention that, as much as I do not like this building, I have to respect it. None of my issues with the building are the result of shoddy materials or workmanship. In other words, despite the design flaws, this building doesn't look cheap.

Also, now that work is pretty much complete, can this thread be kept open until Inga reviews it?

Yesterday I drove from the Port of Wilmington about 33 miles from downtown and I could see downtown Philadelphia pretty good from high up above the port looming behind stacks of a factory.

Downtown Philadelphia is an unique place; most of the buildings that have held the tallest titles reflect another time or place with a degree of timelessness; for example Liberty One reflecting the Chrysler Building of the 1930's; or the Comcast Building reflecting Citi Tower in London's Canary Wharf. Comcast Tech Tower is very different in that it reflects so many buildings in the past and yet not one specific building in particular; it's well done, very high quality and unique.

When I look at the Philadelphia skyline I consider it well; we have one of the oldest cities in the nation and one of the most dynamic and modern skylines; it has height and mass; most cities have either but only a handful have both; however it has class to which almost no building of stature is tasteless. Philadelphia is unique and Comcast Tech Tower is a unique building in a unique skyline so much so that as more towers are added and even exceed it in height like many of its predecessors it to can reflect a certain timelessness; no matter what out views of its taste in content.
