That's just what I was told by someone on the project. I guess we'll wait and see. Either way expect them to waste NO time installing.

Great shots as always Harry! It'll be an exciting milestone when they remove the screen on the last setback.

First time I've seen Vista up close in a few months. It's impressive!

Why would installing glass have to be noisy? I'd imagine there would be ways to do lots of work during parts of the day in which it wouldn't violate any volume standards. Especially on the tall parts, facing out toward the river. Who would hear a drill from over a thousand feet away? I don't even hear the L from my place and I'd be much closer than any of these people in LSE are to Vista.

Fantastic pictures! The vertical support columns on the western side look awesome on the inset of the frustums. It really helps define the shape of the building. I hope the glass is transparent enough to highlight this.

All it takes is one person calling 311 to shut a jobsite down if they are working between 8:00 pm and 8:00 am without a permit. It doesn't even have to be noisy work. Usually the city will let you slide unless they receive a specific complaint though, so most contractors will push the envelope. Most often it is to start working before 8:00 am.

I haven't' been on the forum for a while so my apologies for asking questions.

The few trips I have made into the city over the last 6 weeks, I noticed no glass which is really out of sequence and is probably messing up the interior construction at this point. Have they even started framing and MEP roughs yet?

What happened with the Glass?

Who is doing the Curtain Wall? Perma?

Has the completion date been pushed?

The city has a requirement that if you are working within a certain distance of residential buildings, there is a time restriction. That existed too when I was part of the management teams for a few high rises in the loop area.

They should just skip the glass, pitch tents, and market its as a "glamping" destination.

The Chinese government has gotten really weird about major foreign investment in real estate.

You would too if you saw a sudden burst of trillions of dollars of capital flee your country like China did in 2015. The central bank burned nearly $1.2 trillion in bank reserves alone trying to stem that flow...

Well... that's not ideal

Alderman Reilly would neverrrrr let them work 24/7 through the night putting up glass. Our neighborhood is very vocal to say the least lol.

Of course.

That doesn’t mean they will, but many hotel operators in prime markets don’t own their property. There were a lot of opco/propco conversions during the 1990s and 2000s and there are a number of REITs focused on hotels.
