Yeah this one would really have standed out, and perhaps would've set off a boom in the area.

The "tower" itself will still be built (just not this version). The west side is still on target to be the next boom area, with the subway extension planned to be complete in 2013.

This would have been awesome with the high line park stretching out to it.

I know the high line will eventually get to this site anyway, but ending at this tower would have been quite the spectacle.
