Oh boy, not a fan of that - there's wayyyyy too much going on; with the relatively quiet base, that small portion in the middle with the running bond pattern, the faceted glass facade and the random balcony cantilevers, this just looks very disjointed. Houston deserves much better, especially for something this tall.

See, I like those balconies/that arrangement. But when you realize it's part of the same building, the confusion and disorder of the design just makes it even more perplexing. I wish the if the developer/architect would have stayed with just this theme/materials/design and carried it all the way up on both sides, it would be a killer design. As it stands right now, it's very Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde

I got in touch with the firm that created the 3D renderings. I'm sorry to break it to those who like the design, but it's not a serious proposal. The site is up for sale, it's just a matter of when (not if) the apartments there will be demolished for a new project.

Good morning ****,

First of all, thanks for visiting our website and showing your interest in our renderings.

The renderings of W Hotel in Houston were for a conceptual design by a local architectural firm. They were working with some investors on the feasibility study of the site.

It kind of reminds me of this Hotel. Did they get some sort of an idea from the unbuilt 40-story 1946 Rogers Lacy Hotel proposal for Dallas by Frank Lloyd Wright?

Just needs more uniformity...and it'll be amazing.
