Wow impressive structure indeed!
Just for the record, the address is not in Shediac, not even close. It corresponds to the rural area near the Bastarach car junk yard, near MacDougall Settlement.

Item on CBC Radio this morning about the aggressive expansion plans for Tomavo (five new stores this year). Apparently one of these new produce shops will be in Shediac.

I've been into the one near me several times. Like what I see there, but the availability of things is kinda hit and miss. We have dragon-fruit, but no strawberries, that kinda thing.

Noticed today that Shediac and NBPower have put up a sign on highway 15 near the jail stating that it is the future site of Shediac's solar farm. The site has been cleared, it is a very large site. This will be an interesting project if it gets off the ground with all that is going on right now.

Is the cleared land visible from the highway?

Yes it is, when the cleared it I had originally thought it would be the new exit off the highway, but there is a huge sign there now saying it is for the solar farm

In the T&T today that there is a proposal coming up before Shediac "PRAC" for a new $8M "Homaris Eco-centre", to be located in the Rotary Park on the riverfront, just behind "le plus gross homard" at the west end of Main Street.

The main issue of note is that the planned location is in a flood zone, and thus an exemption is necessary to allow for construction. The existing Big Lobster Hut, Tourist Information Centre and Paddle Shack would have to be relocated. Town planning staff are apparently recommending against this proposal because of the flooding risk, especially with expected sea level rise.

This is a major project, and would have a large tourism benefit for the town, so I imagine the Town of Shediac will do everything in it's power to make sure that this proposal goes ahead.

Apparently the Hotel de Vieux Port in Shediac is getting an authentic Filipino restaurant - the Pinoy Bar and Grill. It will be the first Filipino restaurant in southeastern NB.

I guess that means "brumes sur mer" won't be opening this season unfortunately.

Just of note there is a Filipino food truck called SARAP that parks in grande barachois but nice to see a sit down place coming to the area as well 😊

Apparently this proposal has been approved.

Also, the hurricane damage to the Shediac Bay Yacht Club has been repaired, and they are increasing the number of berths available in the facility.

Finally, the hurricane damage at the Pointe du Chene wharf has also been repaired. All the buildings on the wharf have been elevated to help prevent flooding in any future events.

According to the T&T, Shediac town hall may be on the move.

Apparently the 20 year lease they have on their current building is coming up for renewal by the end of 2021, and the town is considering moving their offices to a larger facility closer to the core of downtown. They are currently in discussions with a "private developer'

Could not find any renderings as of yet.

A huge project for Shediac. Do you know how big of an issue the lack of sewage capacity is and how likely it is to be resolved for this project? Hopefully if this does go ahead, I can it as an impetus for completing the adjacent interchange and building the eastbound ramps on route 15.

Euston Park Social beer garden is putting it's final touches to it's new (2nd) location at Parlee Beach in Shediac.

photo found on Retail Talk & Share

It's amenities like this that make Parlee Beach truly unique in Atlantic Canada compared to all the other signature beaches in the region. Some people might complain about crass commercialization, but personally, I think places like this fulfill a need, and make Parlee viable as a day long excursion from the city during the summer time.
