That is scary. I guess the built it a bit too close to the water? Maybe the walls weren't thick enough?

^^^^After that you question how well any of these buildings are being constructed. These guys need to get their act together with quality coming first. It's not an amusing sight for the consumer.

Are there uniform requirements for podium height in that part of the Marina? If not, why are they all the same height/general dimensions?

^^ Don't know about height but they are stuck together as shown. Also don't know what other requirements there are, don't think there's any particular rule on retail but some of the towers definitely have shops. On the other hand some of the bases are hideous!

I'm speculating that, just by the fact that it was possible for them to capture that action shot of it flooding, that they realized it was about to happen shortly before it did, and thus there weren't injuries. Had it flooded without them knowing, the first photos would be of it almost completely swamped.

Basements are required to accomodate the parking lots. The similarity in height is becouse they are attached to one another.

Twisting towers are easy to model but once you get into details it becomes a nightmare. My PC was lagging from this tower alone. Also podium not done yet so no render in the skyling

malec, you should make some renderings of Pudong in Shanghai. Would be nice to see along with the Marina. 2 of the world's busyiest construction zones.

Is there any reason for these towers having such different foundation types?
