i didn't see how the music fit the mood of the video. Now I'm not suggesting heavy metal or classic rock would have been the correct genre, certainly not hip hop, and this building isn't sexy enough for jazz representation, and country twang wouold have shut me down within the first few seconds, and then I thought...the theme song to Rocky would have been the right choice. Why do so many people lack the gift of the obvious??

I can't wait until they finish the park. Very exciting to see this come to fruition. It's going to be a great space

The parking podium is done and they are working on the first floor with the CVC setback. It should really start to rise now.

The half block to the North has been cleared. I can't remember for sure but I think this will be the new location for the Velocity Credit Union to free up the current location to the West.

I just wanted to have the renderings for this building in a more recent post so I can remember how it will look like once it's completed.

Some old information that I find interesting too:

Construction start: Nov. 2018

Tower Crane: Mid-June 2019

Started peeking ground level: Sep 2019

4?/29 floors: Dec 6, 2019
7/29 floors: Jan 12, 2019
13/29 floors: Feb 18, 2020

If it's 1 floor/week... then it SHOULD top out by June 2020.

Anticipated Completion: July 2021

Overall I like this building, the one gripe I have with it is the east facing blank wall. At least put a mural on it. That goes for all the other blank walls in DT.

I don't know the exact details and nuances of the building code, but we usually get blank walls because buildings typically can't have windows on a side that is mid-block. If the building went all the way to the end of the block, they would have likely put windows on that side.

But I agree, a mural or whatnot would be nicer.

This is one of my favorites- the Holiday Inn clarinet mural in New Orleans.

It doesn't have a blank wall, according to those Max Tower renderings.

If you look at one of the above renderings, specifically the one that shows the east facing side from across I35, that side is pretty blank all the way down to and including most of the base facing that side.

Off topic, but why don't some Austin buildings have ads on them? Probably in the minority here, but I actually prefer that to murals/street art.

Is it just something that happens with larger scale cities?
