Yes, and talking to one of the tenants, they have said that they would be out of Art Central in June.

Having music in the main lobby would be a great place to escape during the day if you need a break from work

I love this. Just curious, did they do away with the plan to incorporate the old Herald building gargoyles into the plant wall? None of the new renderings show them anymore. Originally I think that was going to count toward their public art component, but you mention an LED art display. Maybe that replaced it?

Since they came off the old 1912 Southam Building during its reno in the 60's (and that building is now demolished for the Brookfield Place project), I would think they should be reinstated there, rather than Telus Sky, since that was the site of the old Southam Building & The Herald HQ until the 80's.

They only exist today because of the 1970's 'heritage preservation' of remnants of buildings that no longer exist, and the new buildings no longer have the same function & tenants as when the gargoyles were created.

Since the new Brookfield and Telus buildings have no connection to the original buildings, or the original owners, or the original tenants, perhaps The Herald will want them back & incorporate the gargoyles into their building overlooking Deerfoot Tr?

Nice, maybe CPC and DBA are back on track now that the flooding and re-structuring are behind.

So it's almost fully approved. Yayyy! I asked the owner of the jewelry store in the SE corner of Art Central when they have to move out by, she begrudgingly said that she'll be out by late June. Apparently almost every tenant in the building that has moved has lost their business completely. It is a sad state of affairs, for such a beautiful project.

re-structuring is not behind. In fact, it hasn't really been implemented yet.

Not sure if folks were aware; Telus Sky is currently at Calgary Planning Commission NOW. Here is the DP report to CPC. I'm running down to CPC right now because they have the model there.

For anyone interested in the ongoing cycletrack debate:

"On the mezzanine parking level, accessed via a dedicated ramp, 198 class 1 bicycle stalls would be provided with changing facilities and access to the building’s stairs and elevators."

"The landscaping incorporates the refinishing of the Centre Street sidewalk with granite and a galvanized steel feature strip containing three new street trees, public seating and bicycle racks."
