What is your ride?

I'm curious what motorized vehicles SSP Vancouver members drive. Maybe four legged vehicles too like horses and goats.

My car is a 1990 Toyota Celica GT 5 speed manual, just my for fun evenings and weekends car. Picked it up for cheap, runs really well.

My wife's car (formerly our one car) is a 2007 Mazda 5 GT also 5 speed manual, small car that's awesome on space yet still fun to drive, but I prefer the Celica when we don't need all that space.

Well, my daily driver is:

(we're talking about dreams, right?)

My guess is that a lot of people here have this as their ride:

Especially those of you that don't have a family.

I actually opted not for the older model Bombardier ART Mark II, but the newer model. However, once I find myself a new job, I'll be picking up a 2002 black Golf GTI 1.8T. *drool*

Well my U pass just expired, but here's what I've got otherwise.

92' 16 valve GTi, gets taken to autoX every so often. Usually used to get me to skiing. It's a 5 speed, minor mods. It's begging for a 2.0FSI engine from a new GTi though.

09' Ninja 250 as my usual driver. Gets about 3.5L/100km, cheaper than a 1 zone bus pass to run and maintain.

600W electric skateboard for trips under 10km. 0.13g/km CO2 output. I usually use it to commute to UBC on nice days.

Then a couple different pedal bikes. Ones a junker road bike that I used to commute on last summer until I got my motorcycle, and a Norco Aline for fun. I like my gadgets

I actually have two cars. This one is my daily commuter and road trip ride, a 2004 Chrysler 300M Special, which I have lovingly named Mia. Lots of fun in the twisties and VERY comfortable.

And my other baby, my 1997 Dodge Avenger ES V6 named Lucy. Great on gas, and lots of fun throwing around a corner. I haven't used it in a while as I am currently completing an engine rebuild, but she still runs like a champ after 250,000 kms.

This is my ride in Montreal, my 2006 Cadillac CTS 2.8 210-hp V6.
I Love it. It isn't so good on gas but not as bad as many think.

Don't really need a car in Vancouver. When you live downtown, everything is walking distance or a skytrain ride away... or I just bum a ride with my friends

Here's me in my Toyota RAV4 making the jump to hyperspace:

The thing is actually pretty gutless, and sucks balls on the highway, but it's decent in town, and not bad when I want to get in touch with my inner redneck and climb some hills and boot around on the forestry service roads.

2010 model. Diesel engine, doesn't turn well, tops out at 13.5km/h, can't get it started on cold Sunday mornings, and costs way too much - but the only option for me.

I suppose this can be the thread where I get to be pretentious by saying I don't have a car, and probably have better calves.

Of course on the rare occasion I do venture outside my comfort zone, it is usually by taxi.

Cars really aren't my thing anyways. If I ever did want one, it wouldn't be a very nice one

Ahhhh what the hell. My 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee - Can't drive anything without a V-8. It's just the need for speed.

And my summer toy sitting under tarp for most of the year - the '65 'vette convertible. And she's how a real street machine should hum.
