I noticed a few comments on the 351 Water thread noting the sheer size of that building - in which I agree. But based on the pics from the view plane analysis, once the Fortis building starts taking shape I think it'll be the eye catcher of the area. This looks to be quite a large building, especially for the area.

351 will be big, but it won't be iconic. The design of fortis place alone is enough to make it the eye-catcher of the skyline, it also helps that it'll be stand alone as the western most highrise in the city and will stand out until Deacon and the Hilton are done

I know I keep sounding like a broken record (but for a good reason) - awesome pics SignalHillHiker, keep up the fantastic work!

I would assume most of the concrete work will be finished soon and steel work will commence shortly. We'll start seeing this building shoot up like a weed very soon.

I can't wait. I just can't wait until Fortis Place and 351 Water Street are completely framed out so that I can examine all the different angles.

I want to try to get up to the top of Southcott Hall for a few density shots of downtown as well. But I haven't tried yet...

I am loving the development, photos and all the updates on St. John's. It blows my mind how much this city has changed since I first moved away in 2001, thankfully I was lucky enough to move back in 2007 for a few years and snap up a property and hold onto it before real estate went through the roof

I had some concerns about this building that these new renders have alleviated.

I was worried there wasn't enough glass and it would look like it had blank walls like the existing Fortis Building. But that's not an issue.

And I couldn't really figure out which was the building was situated. Now I can see. Awesome!
