Based on the latest 110 photo updates, the concrete core is getting thinner as 110 transitions from the mid-rise section to the high-section as full floor plates at the 38th floor now grow from 29,000 to 30,000 SF ... per the 110 stacking plan.

^ I hope they have those pieces of the form work that are leaning on the north setback tied down.

If by tied down, you mean tied down with hope, then yes, the core form pieces were tied down.

slightly off-topic but what are those giant stainless steel caps on the wings of the Civic Opera? are they to protect/cover HVAC equipment?

^Essentially. They are mechanical penthouses built whenever they retrofitted the building with AC.

I really like this building a lot. I think its going to be an amazing addition to the Chicago Skyline and it already starting to poke through! I notice the crane and core coming in northbound to the city on I-55 and I can also see it poking though on the south side looking north from the Cermak ramp.

From this afternoon 8/12/2019.

They starting installing the marble in the lobby.

This skyscraper is so beautiful. Shame that it couldn’t be over 1000 feet tall near Sears Tower height. It would’ve had a powerful impact on the skyline. Could someone here make a rendering of what this building would have looked like if it was over 1000 feet in the skyline? Just curious

Agreed! This building looks fantastic. I was looking at photos of the towers at Hudson Yards yesterday and although they are taller, none of them look this good.

At ~820ft, this will have an impact from the west and even a little from the east so it's not THAT short, but I take your meaning.

If we are going to play this game, I want to see three (or four!) setbacks on the north side at 1000ft!
