Midtown DRC agenda is usually up by now... haven't seen it. Hopefully February has projects to discuss.

I think they're just redoing the geo-grid - or similar product-in the area in question adjacent to the Fed (which allows a fire truck to drive on the grass without tearing it up).

I forgot the name of this project on Howell Mill Rd (behind Room & Boards). But it's moving along quickly. What a mess it will be for residents getting in and out of that corner

Wow, that looks cool!

I wonder if privacy will be an issue in a building with that many windows?

Thanks for posting! I was trying to sneak a peek while at little trouble, but couldn't view progress over the mounds of dirt

No problem. Do you remember the name of this project ? (Btw, how do I make the pictures smaller?)

Broad stone West Midtown, I believe. Think that was the name on their planning permits as well https://www.google.com/amp/atlanta.c...?client=safari

You think anyone cares about that? This is West Midtown where everyone bikes and takes imaginary trolley cars.

What a remarkable difference in design...and not in a good way.

JPX Designs

A possible "watering down" of the original design.

I hope they stay true to the original design for their Midtown lilli project.

In looking closer...

I believe the primary difference in the 3 Dimensional model and the 2 Dimensional renderings is that the glass railing on the balconies appears to be more reflective in the original conceptual renderings – which gives them more “visual” mass.
In the model, they appear more transparent and tend to disappear. However, it does seem that some of the balconies seem to protrude more in a cantilevered fashion in the original design.

To me it just seems that the balconies are more lined up in the model than they were in the renderings. The renderings show them protruding much further out at different parts of the building. Also, add greenery to all the balconies in the model, and I think it would make it look a LOT more like the renderings.

Renderings are always meant to be conceptual and subject to change. To have expectations that they will resemble reality will always lead to a let-down.

Construction details and tolerances (not always driven by budget changes) often "water-down" designs because that portion of reality has yet to be "rendered".

Looks like it is 20 stories now - the Penthouse is 2 stories.

High Street Perimeter
Speaking of condos, it looks like High Street Perimeter is gearing up. Aesthetically, architecturally and from an urban perspective, this has to be one of the most impressive developments in Atlanta.

All of the buildings below are in Phase I.

Emerson Rendering

Now that rendering is more like what I was expecting, although I know it is somewhat idealized. I would like to see more "Thinking Outside of the Box" like this in Atlanta.

Surprising that as of 2pm the day before, no Midtown DRC Agenda uploaded on website home page. Certainly should be uploaded soon though.
