The Royal Bank building will be getting a new podium exterior in the next 12 months.
Not quite sure what to make of that... I'd think that restoring the podium of this building to its original sleek 1960s appearance would be a better bet than doing something new, but I guess we'll have to wait and see.

300 Main Street may include a grocery store. Possibly between the two towers. Possibly in the underground concourse.

Oh geez.. haha

It's 400 apartments over 40 storeys. Not condos. Still a bit of confusion going back to esquire calcs on the number of floors.

I'll stop live tweeting BB's Twitter feed. Ya'll can swing over there for updates.

I've heard the RBC building podium will look pretty music the same so yes a restoration of sorts.

Yes, if anything more towers could encourage more people to move downtown, as more people = more amenities and a better neighbourhood overall. People would rather live in a neighbourhood vs. a tall tower surrounded by dismal asphalt.

all this camaraderie amongst the developers downtown these days - Richardsons and Chipmans all cozy over at TNS, now Artis openly hoping that SkyCity proceeds.
Wonderful!

It's really in all of their best interests that as many of them succeed as possible. More people downtown can only help the commercial aspects of their projects and any future projects downtown.

Wonderful!
I wonder if Artis would go so far as to buy a floor or two to help move things along?

That podium looks pretty light and glassy. If the entire first floor is glass and open down to Winnipeg Square, that could make it a pretty inviting place. For an underground mall.

Anyway, hello new skyline. I'm starting to believe.

Do we have a height figure for this thing ? It appears to be at least 140 meters but that's a complete guess of course.

Right. I count more than 40.

Maybe it actually is about 100 feet taller. I'd say you guesstimated right and we haven't heard anything about the height figures so, sure, let's hope it's not just really crazy rendering.

I counted 40 floors on the tower, then 3 maybe 4 on the podium. They have some weird perspective in those images.

40 floors on the tower at 10' plus a mech floor at the top for 10' more. say 410' for the tower. podium looks to have high ceilings. we can say maybe another 40'-60' for the podium. So we're looking at 450'-470' range.

Yeah, I'm not sure what's going on with those renders. It looks absolutely massive from that angle shown by Metro, like SkyCity-level height.

We need some numbers from the source to set the record straight.
