Love this:

'Bar Henry, located inside Henry Singer’s new flagship location in Ice District at 10220 103 Avenue NW, opened in early February. It is the fourth restaurant Costa has chosen to open downtown.

“It is definitely a conscious decision to stay downtown,” said Costa. “We’ve been offered deals in the suburbs. But we want to keep the city vibe going. That was the original vision when I opened Corso.”

Yup, excited to try Bar Henry when it's open during the day for espresso and also for his new restaurant going in at the Citizen.

Agreed, there's a severe lack of food and beverage options south of 99 Avenue - actually, I think there are zero places to grab a coffee or a meal anywhere in Rossdale, Walterdale, etc.

Exactly.

Riverdale is FAR more attractive than Rossdale for that simple fact.

How it does not have a cute little cafe is beyond me.

Chick-fil-A Sets Sights on Alberta: Plans for 20 New Restaurants by 2030 [Interview]

By Mario Toneguzzi
Date: March 13, 2024

Quick service restaurant Chick-fil-A is aggressively expanding its footprint in Canada with plans to roll out up to 20 restaurants in Alberta by 2030.

Initially, three restaurants will open at West Edmonton Mall by late summer followed by locations in Calgary and South Edmonton Common. They will be the first to open outside of Ontario since the brand began in Canada at Yonge and Bloor in Toronto in 2019.

The West Edmonton Mall location will be in the Food Court by the World Waterpark. The Calgary location is along the busy Macleod Trail S.W. corridor.

Hit up Darcy's Smokehouse and Catering on friday after Leaving Endeavor brewing.
There was actually a line up.
about 36 seats in the place. 6 tables of 4 and 2 picnic tables.
Split the meal between my wife and I.

Had a LB of ribs and the Buttermilk Chicken Sandwich. Side of Garlic Fries and Cornbread.

The ribs were fantastic. Dipping sauce was sweet with just a bit of tang.

Chicken was one of the best HI have had in a while.
Meal for the 2 of us was about $34.00. Plenty to fill us up.

Darcy's Meats took over the Links Fire roasted sausage house.

May get some ribs next time I go to Endeavor. Be even better if they were beside each other.

Darcy's is a few blocks north of Endeavor at the Esso station CRUs. or just south of Serus Place Rec centre.

That is not a bad price at all for two people for BBQ, I think this requires a trip to St. Albert for me and the fam now!

^ I've been to Jack's, Kelly's, Sabor and El Jardin and they were all good. I'll try to hit up some other downtown eateries during the Easter long weekend.
