I think it's a parking garage for the Zoo

Yes, it’s the San Antonio Zoo parking garage.

Oh wow, at first I was a bit skeptical - but that's going to be huge for the Zoo which is great

You'd think that if they're going to all that trouble they could give a few more feet for pedestrians to walk and eat in front of those retail establishments, but beggars can't be choosers I guess. It's certainly an improvement.

Pretty ugly, though. It occupies a prominent spot, and yet the only relief from the concrete shell will be the "greenscreens"... which don't always become lush.

I don't love parking garages, but I do appreciate when someone does it right. The Boston Haymarket garage is one example. It's a parking garage with a subway station beneath it, a huge green market on the first floor and an attached building with office space and ventilation for the Big Dig underground highway adjacent to it. So it's car friendly, people friendly, public transit friendly and isn't a bad building to look at.

Fellas, enough bickering. There will not be a dedicated parking garage thread. Any parking garage development can be discussed in the representative thread corresponding to its location, which will either be urban or suburban/metro.

I deleted posts. I was referring to that bickering and the subject they were bickering about.

As a former San Antonian who recently moved to Ohio, I enjoy coming to this page to see what is happening in San Antonio. That being said, I rarely posted on this site when I lived in San Antonio because of the depths of censorship present on this page. Sometimes bickering drives traffic to the site which then increases engagement and posts. I would argue that it allows people to feel they have a voice, rather than fear that their posts will immediately be deleted (which I'm sure this one will) if a single sentence strays off the tread topic. Just throwing this out there in hopes that some sort of middle ground can be found.

That being said, I enjoy checking this site to see how my hometown is progressing and changing. Keep the posts, articles and photos coming. You all are amazing.

I was gonna say, I kinda like the bickering. Its 1. funny, 2. makes this forum seem more human than urban planning and development robots. Although there should be a cutoff once it gets inappropriate

The bickering was starting to get personal. That will not be tolerated. That is why it was deleted. With that being said, it it be the last time we touch that subject.

Looks like North Park Lexus is adding a 5 story parking garage to counter Mercedes Benz of San Antonio's recent expansion.
