^ Love the video! This tower will be in the middle of it all with the new Museum Park being built across the street, the AA Arena, the Performing Arts center 2 blocks away and the views of Biscayne bay, the Atlantic ocean & Miami Beach. Thanks for posting.

Great news, the tower gained FAA Approval and will be allowed to top out at 709 feet above mean sea level.

^ Great news! This will be Miami's 4th. tower over 700 feet | 210m. Now I wonder how long it will take to remove that gas station and clean up the site.

The Floorplans Of The $45 Million Zaha Penthouse

Quote:
For $45 million, the sprawling apartment has double height living and master bedroom areas, a private circular elevator, and a second private elevator leading up to the building's rooftop helipad. It has a games room, a circular grand staircase, a second circular grand staircase "just because", and a media room with adjacent lounge.

And, if you act quickly, Zaha herself will float down in a melted-marshmallow-shaped flying ship, land on the helipad, and take up residence in one of the guest bedrooms, which might be good or bad depending on how you look at it.

1000 Museum's Exoskeleton Preps For June Groundbreaking

Quote:
As the June groundbreaking of Zaha Hadid's One Thousand Museum quickly approaches, the architects and engineers are planning, and designing, and mocking-up various parts of the tower, including the exoskeleton. Public relations people sent over these few images showing the process, and just how much of literally a massive, almost brutalist, thick-as-hell block of concrete we're talking here. It almost looks like it was just chiseled out of the earth rather than poured, showing just how wild this exoskeleton idea really is. But this massiveness actually creates a delicate lightness and transparency.

"The tall, slender tower is rigid, stiff and hurricane resistant while allowing for the interior floor plates to be almost column free (this gives buyers maximum variation in floor plans). Behind the exoskeleton the architects created a folded, crystal-like façade that contrasts with the solidity of the exoskeleton. This will create an effect that is similar to a diamond sparkling in the light."

Lawsuit Resolved, Developers Can Close On One Thousand Museum Site

Quote:
Marc Roberts has settled his dispute with the owner of a BP gas station where the Zaha Hadid-designed One Thousand Museum is planned.

The lawsuit was prompted by a letter sent from Roberts warning that his 2007 contract to buy the property remained valid and that One Thousand Museum developers are closing on the land ‘at their own risk’. Court records show that the two sides are now asking a judge to have the suit dismissed.

1000 Biscayne Tower, LLC can now proceed to close on the station. Terms of the contract call for closing to take place before September 10 at a price between $27 million and $60 million

Miami’s One Thousand Museum condominium scores big construction loan

Quote:
The One Thousand Museum condominium project in Miami that was designed by renown architect Zaha Hadid and her firm scored a $51 million construction loan.

British Virgin Islands-based Aguamarine Services Corp. provided the loan to 1000 Biscayne Tower, which is headed by Hallandale Beach developers Louis Birdman and Gregg Covin plus Kevin Venger, of the Regalia Group. Cohen Financial advised the developer on the loan and its recent purchase of the 36,200-square-foot site in downtown Miami for a combined $36 million.

Demolition Begins At BP Gas Station; Groundbreaking For One Thousand Museum In December

Quote:
Demolition is now underway at the BP Gas Station at 1000 Biscayne Boulevard where Zaha Hadid’s One Thousand Museum is planned.

Crews are now razing the station and will be removing underground storage tanks and piping. The station only requires minimal environmental remediation since the tanks where replaced within the past few years, according to the developer.

Developers also announced that they have sold two units in the project valued above $15 million apiece over the past 30 days.

A groundbreaking ceremony hosted by Zaha Hadid is scheduled during Art Basel.

Great! Ground breaking during Art Basel in December will expose a lot of International buyers during the festival as well to the new Museum Park across from Biscayne Boulevard.
Glad those underground gasoline tanks won't be a huge impediment to this project.

This will become Miami's 11th. skyscraper over 500 feet | 152m to be under construction next year.

Another ground breaking. Or at least another ground breaking ceremony. They are all timed to coincide with Art Basel. Hope actual construction follows soon.

Three major projects in the last two days. Nice! With the projects currently u/c about to be finished, these new developments will ensure that 2015-2017 will see a skyline full of cranes especially once the big developments start up.
