Thread naming convention: [CITY] NAME | HEIGHT | FLOORS | STATUS

Each project in this section should have its own thread, and please use the following syntax for creating new project threads:

[CITY] NAME | HEIGHT | FLOORS | STATUS

NAME - full project name
HEIGHT - the building's height in meters
FLOORS - the floor count of the building
STATUS - U/C, Proposed, Completed

Examples of thread titles:

[Suburb A] Building A | 197m | 60 fl | U/C

[Suburb A] Building B | 183m | 58 fl | U/C

[Suburb B] Building C | 116m | 37 fl | U/C

When did we forget about the [City] part? Would be quite useful to identify what former city/general area of the City each project is proposed to be built (Ottawa, Vanier, Gloucester, Orleans...)

I love adding the Developer and Architect to the end like we have been doing on SRC.

The developer and architect are specific project details and don't belong in the thread title, IMO. I'll advocate strongly against this. The clutter this adds is evident over on SRC, where it's already getting out of control. It's hard to visually pick out the projects I'm interested in reading about because the titles are so long. These details should be, and are, available in the thread itself, along with all the other project details. The titles should be clear and concise in identifying the project (ie. name and address, primarily), not the specific details of the project.

Likewise, if the thread categories are properly setup per city/area, then there's no need for displaying the city name per thread, and the extra clutter this also adds. I would rename and reorganize our threads into these categories, within the Ottawa-Gatineau forum:

Ottawa (Downtown/Central)
Kanata/Stittsville
Barrhaven/Riverside South
Orleans/Cumberland
Ottawa (Other Locations)
Gatineau

This would also serve to lessen the confusion about where does Ottawa end and the suburbs begin? (ie. the greenbelt divider debate), as well as where should posters put Gatineau projects. As a separate city with separate zoning and development rules, it merits its own sub-forum.

At what point should a project have its own thread? In theory should every project that is in DevApps have its own thread, or is there some threshold that should be passed before a thread should be created?

While this is a skyscraper forum in name, so far we've been generally interested in reporting on projects that fill the missing middle and upwards. But that doesn't mean that readers have to follow them all. With clear concise thread naming people can quickly determine what is of interest to them and read just those.

Doesn't necessarily have to be in DevApps. Threads are created for a lot of City and Federal projects that are only conceptual. Threads can be created when a developer presents a project to the public well before they apply at the City.
