I did't say architects shouldn't break the "mold" and i actually have great respect for what they do even if i don't agree or necessarily like the design.

At least it's not "weird" and 2000' tall.

I don't really care for all the "boxy" designs either.

It takes all shapes and sizes, and not everybody likes 'em all...

It's not my fault you automatically assume "weird" to be derogatory.

I may not like this design very much, but i do agree it will blend well in Miami and not look out of touch w/ the rest of the city & that's a good thing.

The same architect (Chad Oppenheim) designed another unusual building which will be right around the corner from Cor; Cube

in Cube buyers units are sold as "modules" and buyers can peice together several modules (vertically or horizontally) to create their living spaces.

It will be an interesting block architecturally.

Also, here is a view from inside of COR:

The site said the expected cost for this would be $40 million..does that seem a little low for this kind of technologically advanced, 25 floor 400 foot building, or am I mistaken?

It is on a small tract. And while land in the area it is located is not cheap, it is nowhere near $20M. The project is actually in a very shady area of downtown.

$40M is not that expensive. The building is "environmentally friendly", not "technologically advanced". They are two different things, and environmentally friendly is a lot cheaper to make.

I know this is random.....but any updates on this building?
It is still one of my favorite designs to be proposed for Miami.

What's the scoop?

I think these apartments are rather neat. I think it will be a good to have some buildings with variety, not just balconied condos every block.

I thought I heard one of the projects, http://4projectsmiami.com got funding, but I don't recall which one and can't find any confirmation.

Sorry this doesn't really help at all.
