Wrong thread.
There's a separate owners thread for real estate enquiries to avoid clogging up this one.

All these new posters asking questions about owning or prospectively owning new units are going to drive Klazu to go Hulk mode or something.

That second one seemed almost a parody posting coming so quickly as it did after the other person was already told off.

LOL!

Read the room, (new) guys.
(...or at least the thread title)

My bad, didn't notice owner thread few posts down.

noob first post.

Here's my proper contribution, I was at the Starbucks yesterday and noticed lots of pidgins hanging around fountain area.
I thought that was interesting as I don't normally see pidgins over at Wholefoods complex.

lol, yea thats weird eh, perhaps more overhanging areas for them to roost at Brentwood. That Starbucks is really nice, too bad it can't be utilized as designed thanks to Covid. Maybe one day.

Someone's feeding them that's for sure. The person needs to be fined. If the pigeons keep roosting around, sooner or later management will have to install those ugly pigeon spikes.

As for Starbucks, I wonder why they don't do a patio-concept like restaurants do. There're plenty of outdoor spaces around Brentwood mall.

I was there to pick up a mobile order the other day, i think sunday. The plaza had a number of tables and all of them were full, starbucks had one outdoor table next to its entrance. I don't recall if the peoplein the plaza were drinking or just sitting at the tables. A lot of it is more open now and you can walk around and get a good look.

They're tearing up the fountain outside Starbucks and redoing it already. Something must have gone wrong. Saw new pipes and tiling yesterday walking by, they were chipping the old stuff out.

I think it's cause it's too wobbly and the quality of the tiles were shit. It was already cracking with a phased opening.

Yeah, the tiles were travertine, which is a porous marble that used to be used a lot in older modernist buildings (TD Tower lobby , Pacific Centre and at TD Centre, Toronto).
They were cut with slits to be used as drainage tiles and forummers posted pics of lots of cracked tiles that couldn't take ordinary wear and tear.
Good that they recognized the problem and are fixing it.

That "Shameless Buns" has the sort of 'Truth-in-Advertising' logo we can all appreciate and applaud,.....I feel like.

Especially in these days of alternative facts and all.

You get what they promise on the tin and nothing more.

haha yea, its filipino food btw.

............

so I popped by on my way home from work to get Starbucks. You can now walk from skytrain to the old mall, yay!!! there seemed to be a few confused older people not sure if they should follow the path or not but its all linked up now. They play music in the plaza and shops areas, it sounds good, good system. Also the big screen in the plaza was on, it looks really good, a little small perhaps but very nice to see in action.

some pics Aug 04

I don't remember all the trees when I was last there, they have also added planters with flowers etc around everywhere.

Thanks for the very nice set of hi-res shot updates SpongeG. Can't wait to visit when more shops and food places are opened.

It figures that it would be.

Filipinos are among the jolliest people I know with the best senses of humour, and if ever I were to be re-born and re-incarnated as anything else, I would choose to be Pinoy.
I've never met a Filipino who didn't have anything but a positive outlook on life.

To be fair though, all the pun games on there are on point.

"Cin City"
"Holi Masala"
"The Praguery"

'Shameless Puns'...er.. I mean...Buns.... get extra credit and rise to the top of the heap for me because of the extra effort they put into the logo.

Oh, and great photos.
Thanks for sharing.
Shame about the pandemic depriving the area of the crowds and foot traffic it could really use to make it all pop.

It still all has the strange feel of a pop-up city built from scratch waiting for a fresh shipment of people to occupy it and bring it to life (...like something out of Douglas Adams' 'Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy'...after they completed 'Earth 2').

I haven't really seen the towers from this angle but driving west along Lougheed the towers look really impressive with them more visually packed together.

I stopped by tonight around 8:30, went to London Drugs. Snapped a few pics. A lot of the stores in the old mall are gone, like Coles books, Michael Hill and a few others.

Basil Box is now open and had quite a few customers ordering food when took a peek from the outside.

Noticed they have put up the signage for Sephora, it will be going in beside H&M Home and says coming 2021.

The fountain was not on but the work was done and fencing removed. The stair lighting was not on either. They do have little light squares embedded randomly in the plaza and they were on, they have twinkle effect across the plaza floor.

where the hoarding is going up, you can see from inside the grand lobby that this will be Small Victory Bakery, it says coming 2020. I didn't get a pic of the sign.

From inside the old section by the BOM the doors are all open and give you a good view to the plaza, but you cannot yet access outside from the doors.
2020-08-07_10-49-42 by snub_you, on Flickr

some reflections but to the right is a staircase, and beside that will be a two level suit supply store.

I took a peak behind the black curtains, its all complete back there and leads to the boulevard. (Security was mulling around and didn't want to take a pic behind)

Thanks.

That's a different location than the renderings showed, which was a space across from Adidas near the "Roman Military Standard" sculpture.
