Kat O Fishing Village Photos

Kat O is literally in the middle of nowhere. After a very long boat ride, we finally spotted ... China ... and this fishing village across the water from Shenzhen's Yantian container port.

However, this island is fairly depressing, with plenty of abandoned homes that give a reminder of its past. Yes, this was and is a fishing village.

Yet there is so much of this kind of stuff considering it's Hong Kong.

The highlight of the tour is snacking! Try these dumplings with sweet fillings inside. 4 sets of these for only HK$10 (less than US$2).

Being a fishing village, there will be fish products on sale.

This is getting too depressing.

Now to brighten up the thread - more snacks.

Here's a Chinese temple. I presume it's to the goddess of the sea.

More from this island coming soon!

Wow, cool. Can you only get there by boat?

I love seeing HK's old villages.
