Yes, but likely spring and summer 2017.

More information is up and it is all in one place for those interested. Third party guidelines for the pedway system are being finalized and reviewed mid Nov for approval.

I am not sure if it is a familiarity thing, but they don't draw my eye and whenever I notice them I am surprised to see it. Not sure if it is due to them being somewhat offset from corners or if a bit of colour would help.

But in general, really like them and look forward to the permanent installs.

Permanent ones are to be backlit or more reflective.

Update today. The standards look excellent and now it is time for finalization, funding and implementation.

New LRT/ETS signs are up. What do you think?

Why are they even using static signs anymore?
I bet that sign initially costs as much as an electronic one and when it's time to update it...

Why aren't we installing electronic signage?

Walked right past it today and didn't even notice it.

It's 2017, not 1997. They should have done something more engaging and interactive. I agree with HHD. I'd be hard pressed to tell the difference between this sign and any other wayfinding sign

They're still legible with colour blindness, which is nice.

Past that I'm with 240 & HHD, huge missed opportunity here with static signage.

I do like the colour choices, they look great on the way finding plinths and pylon signs in the parks.

But for this application something digital should have been done

Far more forthcoming, early days, but a very significant improvement of what we had; digital on the way. Static are still very important and having been to Paris, Toronto, Tokyo of late...

who missed the matching "corner cut" on the plinth and why aren't the edge treatments/overhang the same on the length side vs the width side at the top chamfer?

as to the awesomeness, i will reserve judgement on how well we're served or not by static signage in a year or two when we'll know how clean as well as how current they are.

is there a qr-code link to automatically download the map to your phone on the sign anywhere?

and while we're at it, while we're fixing things, i've had to do more walking and driving in and around downtown this week than normal and think we should add a new city slogan to our signage:

"no matter where you're going or how, you can't get there from here."
