State Farm Data Center coming in just down the road

Quote:
State Farm is working with developer KDC to build the 129,180-square-foot data center just south of its campus at the vacant corner of Lookout Drive and Plano Road.

The property is part of the historic Spring Creek Farms, which was previously owned by the Owens family.

Plans filed with the City of Richardson show that the datacenter – called Project Black Flag – will take up about 15 acres on the corner. The 1-story building is being designed by Corgan Architects of Dallas.

The facility would have parking for more than 130 workers.

This will be a very nice project. I really hope they close that block of Olive Street within the park to vehicular traffic. That would really make a big difference in the park.

Talk about a Skyline Changing Development

Turkish developer to buy land near Dallas City Hall for $1.2B multitower project

Quote:
Roughly five acres of land behind Dallas City Hall is under contract by Turkish developer Mike Sarimsakci, who has started designing plans to build a $1.2 billion ground-up development to put four mixed-use towers in downtown Dallas.

The four towers include two 80-story towers and two 60-story towers originally conceived by Sarimsakci for the proposed redevelopment of Pacific Plaza Park. The project would be developed at 1701 Cadiz St. and 1502 Canton St., each valued at about $1 million by the Dallas Central Appraisal District.

Terms of the expected land sale were undisclosed.

"These towers would be the tallest west of the Mississippi," Sarimsakci told the Dallas Business Jour nal in an exclusive interview. "We are going to do it. We have the land under contract and Dallas needs to shine.

"We are under contract and we have the capital ready," he said, adding that international capital backers were eager to invest in downtown Dallas.

The tract is bordered by Canton Street to the north, Browder Street to the west, S. Saint Paul Street to the east and Cadiz Street to the south.

These guys seem determined to build towers somewhere in Downtown Dallas, first in Pacific Park and now here. I can't imagine they would get all of this built, but if just a single tower comes from this, that would be pretty spectacular!

Yes I can't wait!! Not trying to get too excited here but at least we got two sites in downtown Dallas for possible supertalls, if one gets built that's good enough.

Good for Dallas. Hopefully they follow through with it. It would be great to see a new tallest in Texas. When they say they're planning on using the original designs for Pacific Plaza, are they talking about the original building designs from the 80s? I remember really liking those.

Oh no, I think this would be the much more recent, contemporary-styled two building residential towers that would have gone above the parking structure in Pacific Park.

Agreed, it's the same proposal by the same developer but just on a different lot with 2-80 story towers tacked on.
