Quote:
German industrial conglomerate Thyssenkrupp will have its elevator division building the tallest such lift in Cobb County as it moves forward on an estimated $240 million facility inside The Battery Atlanta near SunTrust Park.

One of the world’s largest elevator companies, Thyssenkrupp officials along with representatives of the BRED Co LLC, the Braves's real estate development arm, announced Thursday morning the German company’s plans to build a new North American headquarters on a 4.8-acre property adjacent to and north of Interstate 285 and on the south side of Circle 75 Parkway. The land is owned by BRED.

Upon completion, which is anticipated in the first quarter of 2022, the Elevator Americas Complex, as it has been named, will include three facilities anchored by a 420-foot-tall elevator qualification and test tower, the tallest of its kind in the country and one of the tallest in the world.
Quote:
The Elevator Americas Complex, when completed, is expected to house more than 900 full-time employees, or about 6 percent of Thyssenkrupp Elevator Americas’ total workforce across North America.

From having talked to multiple German dudes living in the US, one of the main appeals of living here is the relatively easy access to houses with backyards. Atlanta seems to be a healthy mix of skyscrapers and houses with backyards.

Bigger cities ask, "What's a backyard ?"

As a former Atlantan who's been living in NYC for almost 20 years now, I can actually verify that it's porches, not backyards. Porches.

That is a gorgeous building.

Don't know who said Atlanta doesn't have a lot of buildings. Atlanta has a meaty and extensive skyline. It looks like a city of a million people.

How does the city sustain such a low population density? Only 3,500 per square mile. Where the hell does everybody live? Theres something like 8 million in the metro area. Why doesn't anybody live in the city?

Employees begin moving into Thyssenkrupp Elevator’s new office in Cumberland

Quote:
German conglomerate Thyssenkrupp has begun the process of moving the North American headquarters for its elevator division to Cobb County.

On Friday, employees began moving into the elevator division’s business headquarters, an existing office building at 3100 Interstate North Circle in the Pennant Park business park.

Other facilities that will compose the rest of Thyssenkrupp Elevator’s North American headquarters — its corporate headquarters and a 420-foot-tall elevator testing tower — will be built a few blocks away in The Battery Atlanta. The tower, which will house 18 shafts to test new concepts and pilot products, will be the tallest test tower in the U.S. and the tallest building in Cobb County.

The company plans on breaking ground on those two buildings on April 18 with the goal to complete construction by July 2021 and finish moving in by summer 2022, according to a press release from the company.

“Today is a very exciting day for our organization as the vision we outlined last summer for a new world-class headquarters is now becoming a reality,” said Steve Wedge, CFO and Interim CEO at Thyssenkrupp Elevator North America.

When complete, more than 900 employees will work out of the company’s North American headquarters complex.

Holy S...you are right.

What a mess...not even sure how you’d attempt to fix that disaster.
