JDRCrash. Yes, I was referring to the Shanghai Center. The two pics above were taken at it's constructionsite on 9th of April by myself. As you can see it's surrounded by a plastered wall on 4 sides. The terrain is abandoned for the moment. Just wanted to inform the ones of you who are interested in that building of the status.

Does anyone have new information on the start of actual contruction of that 3rd supertall? Giallo?

Is there an official website for this building? I feel like there should be a really nice website with tons of cool renders but I can't seem to find one.

Anyways, I think it's time for an update.

From the lateral side, it's a whole different building... kind of boring. It loses the most distinctive part of its identity.
Jin Mao doesn't have such a problem.

I agree on the latter. Jin Mao is a superb well balanced building.
Nonetheless, the lateral view is unusual at best.

Yeah, you can't see the hole from the side, but I like how much the profile of the building changes from different angles. It is a whole different building, very dynamic.

The W=A supertall planned for Chicago will have a similar blade shape, so that the profile will change dramatically from different angles. From the pictures of SWFC, I think W=A is going to look good.

Two exact copies of SWFC would have been perfect for the WTC replacement. The design captures the massiveness of the original WTC towers, but adds many more interesting design features.

Nope, WFC would not look good in pairs, at all.

Naw, too much sterile space in Western Lujiazui. What would really top it off would be a nicely designed stadium between the Peal and the convention centre/mall.

Just have to say I agree that I like how different it looks from the side. From the frontal view it looks rather slender, the side view really makes you appreciate how massive a building it is.
