I noticed nothing hostile in what he said. Let's all be civil to one another and not be ready to pounce.

Hostile may not have been the best word to use, perhaps surly or feisty. Regardless, no pouncing on my end.

It sounds to me like they're planning a mat foundation pour. That makes sense with the river being so close to the site. A mat foundation makes it possible to not need to dig or drill as deep, and that would help avoid water issues. That means a whole lotta concrete trucks supplying concrete to the pumper trucks. It's not uncommon to have a thousand or more concrete trucks bringing concrete to the site one after the other.

You may have missed the bottom for that article, where it addresses removing drill rig, but that’s ok. It’s finished now.

Yes on mat slab. I’m told it will be around 150 trucks, but yes, that will be a busy day on site. Before mat slab will be mudslab for waterproofing.

Yeah, let's not be surly or feisty with each other.

Oh, ok. I see it now. I missed it last night because of the big photo at the bottom. I thought that was the end of the article.

By, the way, I'm not sure what they were using those large wooden planks for that were sitting under the drilling rig, but that's not what they use to set up a tower crane with. They usually set the tower crane bases in concrete. I'm not sure how they get them out, I'm assuming they detach mechanically, but they've always seemed to be poured in place along with the slab - that is if the crane is situated within the walls of the building. Sometimes they set the cranes on the outside wall along the street, but many of them actually sit inside the building's outer walls.

I think the wood planks were just to distribute the weight of the super heavy drill rig, as it moved around that muddy hole, but not 100% on that. But planks were removed with drill rig, so probably that was the case.

Tower crane will be outside the structure on the St Marys side.

I know that's sarcasm and I accept it graciously.

And while I will defend my honor and point out mistakes and/or aggressions, I make it a point to not attack others or the POVs and I often admit when I'm wrong. Peace.

^^ Thanks for posting the link again. Looks like they're pretty much done with piling, or at least getting close.

sirkingwilliam, would you mind adding the link to your first post on this thread so it's easy to get to? I would appreciate it and I imagine others would too.

In rendering it looks like balconies on non riversides and on riverside it looks like glass with no walkout (for rooms). Either way hope you’re right would be sick tinder date spot

Maybe start the tinder date at the bar overlooking the Riverwalk, and ease into the hotel room with balcony.

But what do i know? Fortune favors the bold.

Concrete

First part of concrete pour is scheduled for early tomorrow morning, so there should be some action on oxblue time lapse.

I see some rebar but nothing in place. Do you think they'll have it ready by tomorrow morning? It will be great to see it happen.
