I'd think it might be bigger than that. The current civic centre is close to 3200. I'd assume it'd be at least that if not somewhat bigger.

Moose Jaw is a great little city. I used to love going there to visit my grandma when I was little. I especially loved the hills! haha The city really needs the multiplex, though. That team is very important to the city, and the multiplex would be a huge boost to the economy.

Spent the last couple of days in Moose Jaw and it's like stepping back in time. Lots of great "old" buildings lining and "radiating" from an actual busy main street. Lots of great photo opportunities. I will definitely make a point of driving out there again in the summer.

Does anyone know what's happening to the Walter Scott Building on the north-east corner of Main Street and High Street? It looked like every floor but the main is vacant.

It reminds me a little of a mini- Nationwide Arena.

I think it would be a great additon to downtown Moose Jaw.

In other news, the downtown lots which were the victim of a fire a number of years ago now have a For Sale sign. Good to see.

BMO to build new bank branch Breaking News Post a comment print this article

RON WALTER
The Moose Jaw Times Herald

The Bank of Montreal announced a new bank for downtown Moose Jaw, located on Manitoba Street East.
The investment of $1.4 million includes the city’s first drive-through automated teller.
The new location, with a 6,500 square foot building on the city’s second-busiest street, will be convenient for customers and staff, said Tafaline Sakundiak, a BMO area manager from Regina.
Construction will start as soon as the landlord transfers the property to the bank, with opening expected in early 2008.
The main branch on High Street will be sold.

Considering that the Western Hockey League is telling the Warriors that it's time either build a new arena or move the franchise to somewhere that will, let's ask the $64 million question: what's happening to the arena project?
