This place is going to be insane. I can't wait to hear how it sounds with a packed house Texas basketball game.

Hopefully the wood exterior keeps its color. The highlight is the balcony, and the quick purchasing of items by scanning bar codes and cashless system works perfectly ... better than waiting in lines at the Erwin Center. The upper deck seating is steeper but not as many rows as the drum. The upper deck covers (for basketball games) looks like giant screens and wonder if Texas will project video and graphics on them before the Men's/Women's games. The sound quality is still arena like but much better than the Erwin Center. A few murals inside but noticed a lot of blank walls still available for more or advertisements. The alcoholic drinks are pricey but food reasonable.

Overall very nice arena and the seating layout is simple compared to others.

Probably not real wood so the color should hold.

It's really hard to understand how impressive it is from looking at pictures. These roof overhangs seem huge and imposing in person.

Here's a shot I got Saturday of the basketball practice facility.

Definitely not as black as it looked in other pictures. It's like a charcoal brown color.

My brother in law went to the Bon Jove concert. He was in the Party Suite, 12 seats, free wine and beer and snacks. I'm going to see the Eagles and we have seats in the same suite. He has a connection so we aren't paying for anything. I couldn't afford it any other way. I'll try to post some pics.

Already saw John Mayer, Bon Jovi, and Justin Bieber sitting in different sections in the upper deck. One thing I have noticed is one side is much cooler than the other. They are having issues with the escalators where a crew was fixing one during the Bieber concert. My next events are on the lower level so can check out the site lines. There is also a fine dining restaurant but not sure how to get in.

You'd think they'd be able to get closer seats.

My seat location depends who I am seeing. Not spending $250 to see Bieber up close. Just got Lizzo tickets which are in section 110 or Portal 5. I think Matthew McConaughey though up the idea of Portals to enter your section.

San Antonio Spurs want to play more home games — away from AT&T Center

https://sanantonioreport.org/san-ant...rs-att-center/

Bexar County commissioners are scheduled to discuss Tuesday an amendment to the San Antonio Spurs’ lease regarding the number of “home” games the NBA team can play away from the AT&T Center.

Bexar County Judge Nelson Wolff told KSAT on Monday that the Spurs want to play regular season home games in Mexico and Austin.

The Spurs’ lease at the county-owned AT&T Center states the team cannot play more than two home games outside of Bexar County during any one season. The Spurs are proposing to play at least two home games within a 100-mile radius from San Antonio, such as Austin or San Marcos and two international games in Mexico, Wolff told KSAT.

“They [Spurs] want to go to Austin and have a game. I know that,” Wolff told KSAT. “They figure that they can draw more people down there if they did that.”

Last week marked the official opening of the new Moody Center in Austin, a venue that replaced the Frank Erwin Center and can seat 10,000 to 15,000 for basketball games.

In a prepared statement Monday, Spurs CEO RC Buford said the franchise is looking for new ways to expand its fan base.

“From day one, we’ve received amazing support from Spurs fans in San Antonio and across South and Central Texas,” said Buford.

“We are committed to finding new, creative ways to purposefully engage and celebrate our fans from Mexico to Austin, continuing to expand our regional fan base. We believe San Antonio is uniquely positioned from a cultural, geographic and economic standpoint to serve as the anchor for this region. San Antonio has been home for five decades and the organization will continue to innovate, positioning the Spurs to thrive in San Antonio for the next 50 years.”

The Spurs have a non-relocation agreement that goes through the 2031–2032 season, according to Wolff. Last year, the team added Austin billionaire Michael Dell and a San Francisco-based investment firm to its investor group, and in November broke ground near La Cantera on a $510 million development that will include a training center and research institute.

The basketball practice facility is coming right along. I'm in love with the windows and skyline view. It's going to be a place of Zen for our student-athletes (and recruits), particularly at night.

This thing is a year old and the roof already needs a power washing and nearly matches the Erwin Center's exterior. Sorry, couldn't help but notice it being stuck on the upper deck of 35 in traffic

Do you or anyone mind taking photos of the areas in need of up-keeping?
