Edmonton Eskimos fire head coach Jason Maas.

Good move......

The press release reads more like a glowing endorsement than a firing announcement.

On Wednesday, the Edmonton Eskimos relieved Jason Maas of his duties as head coach he had held since Dec. 14, 2015.

“After four seasons, he leaves with a 39-33 regular-season record and 3-3 post-season record that includes three division final appearances,” the club noted in the announcement, which relieved the 43-year-old former quarterback who still had one season remaining on his contract.

But the coach saw the writing on the wall, loud and clear, after a 6-3 start to the season ended with a 2-7 run over the back half to claim the sixth and final playoff spot as the crossover spot.

Great article about the Bombers Grey Cup parade and how accessible CFL players are to the fans and what a class act Strevler is to Bomber fans in Winnipeg:

^ Streveler cemented himself as a legend in this town. If they didn't absolutely love him before the Grey Cup, they sure do now.

Although it is interesting that he had such a high profile in the post-game events while Collaros was barely visible at all. Seems like Zach was lying extremely low on purpose.

Strevler is a total class act. Good to read those kinds of things these days.

Danny Mac strong contender to be next Als GM. He deserves it he has paid his dues as the Bombers assistant GM and U.S. scout the past 6 years and he is a great guy and personality too! As to the Argos I have no clue what the hell they are thinking keeping Corey Chamblin around. They have no QB'S terrible Oline and Defense and zero fan interest. So far since Pinball has come back he seems to have done nothing other than get rid of Collaros. Pinball needs to focus solely on the Argos and not his side projects as this team could die soon if they don't improve on the field and at the turnstiles.

Presumably it's the staff salary cap, one of the stranger ideas the CFL has come up with.

Well, I'm 1 for 2 so far.

Campbell will be named the HC in BC today.

Elizondo was denied access to speak to the Eskimos

Two Calgary assistants (Kilam and Dinwiddie) had interviews with Ottawa

I think Lapo is too good to pass up either Edmonton or Ottawa should take him.

I hate to see him go but yeah, he clearly deserves another shot at the HC gig.

Blue Bombers are on pace to sell the most Grey Cup merchandise in CFL history.

https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/manit...dise-1.5381838

Couple that with 800,000 more viewers for this year's Grey Cup CFL you should give a huge thank you to Manitoba and Bomber fans across Canada. To beat Rider fan merch sales is incredible!

The stuff is flying off the shelves, I see it everywhere around town. Which is crazy considering that a simple cap is nearly fifty bucks.

Mike Benevides might be the Lions new Defensive Cordinator. They have also asked to interview Jason Mass as OC. That would be a strong coaching staff.

Jason Maas to be the OC in Saskatchewan.

Terrible head coach but he's a hell of an offensive coordinator.

Well, it’s not as though anyone is saying “No way... they’re not getting me to buy even MORE Bombers Grey Cup merchandise!” Maybe Bud Grant is, but that’s about it.

I'm gonna make a prediction right now: Fajardo will be a bust next year and experience a bad sophomore slump

According to Dave Naylor Paul LaPolice to be introduced as the the new head coach of the @REDBLACKS #CFL #Redblacks

Congrats Lapo you deserve it! I guess this means the Bombers promote Buck Pierce to OC.
