Monkeyronin, excellent thread idea.

Especially, the focus on the lowrise completed projects. Everyone dumps on the skyscrapers going up here, but the real quality is in the low-midrise projects that are going on not only here, but across the country.

Some amazing infill and houses here, especially in Toronto.

Vancouver has a ton of new stuff that's gone up in the past 5 years or so. So many pictures of these projects are buried within various Vancouver threads that I wouldn't even know where to begin to find them.

First I wanted to say I loved Integral House in the first photo, hated it in the other. Now I don't know what to think. But it's certainly memorable.

Beautiful. I always thought that Quebec City punches above its weight when it comes to good modern design.

I was waiting for a Quebec post with strained breath. But... this isn't the one I was waiting for. That's not as impressive as I'd hoped. Better than ours, obviously, don't get me wrong. But those buildings are way behind the TO examples.

This thread rules. If there's one thing I learned here is that Canadian cities are much better at building beautiful but smaller scale buildings than they are at building exciting new skyscrapers.

Those Montreal ones are pretty kick-ass, especially compared to most of the new skyscrapers that have gone up in the past 5-10 years. I don't know what to think of that Maison symphonique though. Why the double-facade? Why couldn't they have just kept the St-urbain facade all glass? Why the lack of visual harmony? The concrete/stone facade looks useless, and pretentiously ugly. I still like though.
