It is a very large base. They took advantage of the lot size (and moved the plaza) to get those large floors, something hard to do in east midtown.

I wonder what a "client center" is exactly, I imagine chase would ball out the 56th / 57th floor, it'll probably be pretty cool up there.

the juxtaposition of the tower coming down and the new one going up on the block is really interesting. i enjoy those constructions pics the most -- and seeing it occassionally in person as well of course.

Yes. The existing building stretched from Park to Madison. The Madison portion though was lowrise and was demolished quickly.

The new building will also occupy the whole site, but the developers were somehow able to begin construction on the Madison Ave. part of the lot. It's pretty amazing.
