This has the possibilities of having the same affect that Dell has in Austin.

Cool, but one thing: "Affect" means to bring about a change in emotion or feeling. "Effect" refers to a physical or resultant change.

My mistake. But thanks for pointing out my error.

Anyhow, I am looking forward to see what kind of impact this will have on the city.

San Antonio Business Journal - by W. Scott Bailey

Texas Gov. Rick Perry plans to visit San Antonio on Tuesday to discuss the state’s participation in an InCube Labs biosciences business incubator that California entrepreneur Mir Imran plans to develop in the Alamo City, say sources familiar with the project in Austin and San Antonio.

What are the odds of this place locating downtown, I'm too lazy to read the articles. I've been doing homework... tired of reading! lol

While downtown would be nice, remember this is not an office building, hotel, or government building. When they say "Northwest" I'm thinking right inside or near the Medical Center. To me that would be the most logic area on the Northwest side, but what do I know. I do know that there is still some land that could be develop in the vacinity, making it alot more dense, almost the way Houston's MedCenter is now. Great news either way.

State's InCube money revealed
By David Hendricks - Express-News
Quote:
Gov. Rick Perry today will announce the state's investment in the planned San Antonio expansion of San Jose, Calif.-based medical device maker and incubator InCube Laboratories, a source close to the situation said Monday.
The governor will be joined by InCube Labs founder and Chairman Mir Imran and San Antonio City Manager Sheryl Sculley for the 2 p.m. announcement at City Hall, said the source, who is not authorized to release information and asked not to be identified.

The state's investment will come from the Texas Emerging Technology Fund. The size of the investment is not being disclosed until today, but the first three InCube Lab companies scheduled to emerge from the new San Antonio incubator have applied for $9.2 million in state investments.

It'll be in the Med Center or on Silicon Dr. near all the other biotechs.
