Toronto certainly has the quantity, but Chicago has the second best quality in terms of skyscrapers on the planet (after NYC), and it is hard to imagine how it could be knocked out of that spot.

^Definitely. It won't be, unless they start building some art deco beauties around here.

I think Forma can be great, but it's just one tower of many.

IMO Miami is now building some excellent stuff. If things continue Miami will catch Chicago after Toronto as well but with more innovative and modern architecture.

Agree on all points. 2nd biggest is sneaking up a lot sooner than many realize. Will it be 2nd best though?

Toronto will never have the same inventory of pre-WW2 skyscrapers of Chicago but that alone can't keep it ahead indefinitely. A skyline needs to continually add quality skyscrapers to maintain its position and architectural layering. That brings one back to your last point. Toronto will need to stop building blue glass boxes and more buildings like The One, Forma East, and Forma West. Although not obsessed over like 1930s skyscrapers are today, those 3 represent the iconic buildings of tomorrow. If Toronto continues on its current trajectory, it will be 2nd biggest and 2nd best.

Viewed all the way from the master-planned Lakeview project in Port Credit/Mississauga.

I think they're working of the 57th or 58th.
