I sure hope they plan to dress up that exterior. It is butt ugly so far.

It's taken a long time for a building of this size to get to this point. A significantly tall high rise could've been completed in the same amount of time.

UT is basically the government. So this is basically a government contract... which means you can expect it will take twice as long, for 4x the price of a normal building.

On a more serious note, this building has a ton of underground space. I have no clue why, but it has as much space below ground as it does above. Not that that's a great excuse for why it's taken even longer than the city library...

The limestone bands are throwing me off...it's practically the same color as teh brick. Why not use a different color?! And they're virturally in the same plane too. Ugh. So much ick about this building. At least the courtyard part will look cool I think.

Are the bands limestone? They look like polished concrete to me.

I've driven by a couple times and it looks like it's that same Cordova shell limestone that's used all over campus.

I ride by this one every day on the bus. It looks more like they renovated an old 60s-70s building by adding new windows (the glass does look nice) rather than a brand new build.
