Their price points have been a sweet spot and rarity for Atlanta. They’ll continue to do well.

Hank Aaron museum coming to Georgia State

https://www.bizjournals.com/atlanta/...e-stadium.html
Quote:
Georgia State University plans to name its new athletics complex in Summerhill after Hank Aaron and create a museum in his honor, according a person familiar with the project.

Georgia State has been working with Aaron’s widow, Billye, on the design. It will feature a 24/7, walkthrough memorial for the Atlanta Braves icon, who died on Jan. 22, at the former site of Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium. It will sit between GSU's soon-to-be built baseball and softball complex, which will also be named after Aaron.

The museum will be adjacent to the "715" home plate location where Aaron broke Babe Ruth’s iconic home run record in 1974. It will also highlight a redesigned plaza area that will recognize Aaron, one of the greatest baseball players of all-time.

The crane base for Alexan Summerhill has been set. Also, they have been doing the civil work for the 2 new street extensions across the parking lots for the past several weeks. I would say these streets will be built over the next couple months. There’s a lot of construction all over Summerhill and south into Peoplestown abutting the Beltline trail with several large townhome developments and apartment developments that haven’t been mentioned on here.

I was in Peoplestown a couple of days ago and was shocked to see the number and scale of apartments being built near the Beltline. The city is infilling rapidly.

Not sure how asking a question is egging anything on. It's a yes or no question.

What does it matter who he is? That’s the point. Let’s just focus on actual news and less arguing in the threads by all. It’s exhausting dealing with the unnecessary banter every couple weeks.

Sorry sir. Please forgive me of this horrible break in forum etiquette. I will flog myself.

Publix coming to Summerhill

Great news, but that surface parking. Ugh...

The rendering from the zoning committee agenda.

I hadn't noticed the surface parking, but you can see it in the most recent site plan and fly-through video. Also it appears to be a two-level parking deck.

Seeing that original site plan reminded me that GSU released revised plans for the baseball/softball complex. It appears the old Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium retaining wall is here to stay and some surface parking for the fields will remain as well.

While the surface parking is never ideal, I don't mind it so much
for the Publix because of the way this is laid out.  I do wish that instead of the two retail buildings in front of the parking they would do a single multi-level building with retail on the bottom.

Utterly ridiculous. There is not a full team on that field. Nor umpires. How can we trust this renderings?

The work is actually for the 2 street extensions that will complete the street grid across the old parking lots.
