He might be referring to the Hank Aaron Apts because that lot is long and skinny if they aren’t using any of the footprint of the Fulco Stadium.

The Broadstone lot has plenty off space. If anything it will be underdeveloped compared to O4W Beltline apts.

The site plan of the Hank Aaron apartments is in the Summerhill site plan. Also, someone on Curbed posted Aldi has signed a letter of intent with Carter for the grocery store.

Yeah, what exactly is the appeal of Aldi. I wasted 15 minutes looking for things I needed and just gave up and went to Dollar General and found what I needed.

Price is the appeal. It's good for some things and adds to the variety of options IMO. Of course in the US almost anything that is not "luxury" is perceived as for the poor's. I only mean that as just a general cultural difference between the US and some other countries that I have noticed.

One wonders for how long that plywood and those 2x4 studs will stay up.

Why? That’s how every home is built under code? Can last several hundred years if maintained just like all the other homes in America.

Not sure why the hotel at the prominent corner of Hank Aaron and Georgia needs to be set back so far from the street with surface parking out front. The stadium follows the curve. Aspen Heights follows the curve. Why couldn't the hotel?

I noticed that too and it's my least favorite part of the plan. There's also what looks like could be a couple of drive-thru restaurants on the same block but I hope I'm wrong.

The neighborhood and city should absolutely fight the hotel’s use of space.

Nice! This is for once an improvement from the original renderings which were already pretty nice.

Press Start "barcade" coming to Summerhill

https://www.atlantamagazine.com/dini...gamers-dreams/
Quote:
Press Start, slated to open next year, will combine the nostalgic appeal of 1980s and ‘90s arcades with the modern demand for craft cocktails and artfully fashioned small plates. Tang has secured a 4,500-square-foot space (including a patio) in Summerhill. The first floor will have vintage games such as Mortal Kombat, Pac-Man, and Street Fighter II—titles Tang considers “a piece of my childhood.” There will be darts, Foosball, and board games, as well as some virtual reality options.

Nice! Barcades are great. I wonder how many games they’ll have. I could see it turning more into a hangout rather than a dining experience, but who knows at this point.

Hopefully the new housing by the SST will encourage their residents to take the bus to Summerhill for when they indulge. The 55 is a good route, although the dog-leg at university ave will seem weird to the new residents at Milton.

I like the new BMT route. Seems to make a lot more sense considering the redundant heavy rail line, the Beltline, and all the development opportunities south of turner field

An earlier article made reference to the co-living apartments that I believe will go here.

The Trammel Crow project would have to be on this lot.

As much as I don’t like the BRT not connecting with a HRT station or the streetcar line for direct transfers, I do like having the direct connection to Broad Street. I hope they think out the full BRT & transit network in general rather than piecemeal stuff here and there. I’d hate to have a handful of new transit lines that don’t integrate well.

The trammel crow lot would be an excellent location for development. Here’s hoping this moves forward.
