Thanks for the post NYguy!

The article is not right about this comment, "Oxford Place was set to include a new casino, but that idea is dead for the time being, as well as four towers and a convention centre."

Perhaps they worded it wrong, but Oxford assured the public that it's a go (without the casino). Some information from RiverCity1 (posted May 28th)...

"At the Land & Development Conference held today at the MTCC, the VP of development at Oxford Properties Group told the attendees that the plan is to still go ahead with the redevelopment plans of the convention space, the development of new office & residential towers, a hotel, green space over the train tracks, etc...basically everything included in their plan announced last year minus the casino. He stated that the casino really was minor and that the plan wasn't ever dependent on the casino being approved at this location anyway; it just would have helped to accelerate their plans."

They should add one more section, so that the roof is just below the skypod.

I'm losing hope on this one. But I'd rather have Canada's first supertall a single tower, not twins. Twins in Toronto don't always look the best, some look great. But this one isn't very nice, they're a bit of a sore thumb in the skyline.

I disagree, I think these will look great as twins.

I also like these as twins. I'm just crossing my fingers that they aren't downsized in typical Toronto fashion. What's the point then?

I'm not saying they look as horrible as Trump, but I do think they are lacking some design (One just by itself wouldn't look that great either). The L-Tower was creative at first, now I just take that for granted, just like the boxes. It's a bad thing for me to do. I like the Oxford Hotel tower designs though, I think I'd rather have that design as a supertall rather than this one.

I actually don't think Trump is that bad, but I do think that these towers would look better in person as opposed to the renderings.
And I rather it have another section.

I don't think anyone knows quite what is going on, but the casino component was rejected by city council, so that took some wind out of the developers' sails.

The project was supposedly not contingent on the casino. Oxford said the proposal is shelved, not cancelled so it's still got life. Toronto still needs the office space, an enlarged convention centre, etc. so that would indicate that perhaps only the hotel portion and the financing needs to be reworked.

Heard the same thing in the Canada section. Very happy to see this project back online.

Amazing. I thought this was dead. I really really hope this gets built to its proposed height.

Source at UrbanToronto says nothing is imminent but the project is still active and Foster+Partners is still involved.
