Didn't grab any pics, but as I was taking the brown line to the north side the other day you could easily see Vista cementing it's spot in the skyline from every angle as you snake away from downtown. It adds so much depth having a building as enormous as this as a point of reference.

Also the west side that I can see from my place hasn't had any new glass in about two weeks it seems like. Should start to see balconies appear soon though as they get above the hotel levels though.

I mean, I love the building, but i'm not sure that part was intentional(nor the original intent) based off the renderings

True.

I do like the way this design that evolved from Gang's sketch has kinda been guts first and the end result has some unexpected results and residual design aspects.

But your're right probably unintended.

Harry's last shots are the first on here that really capture to brown/grey tones that come out with some of the higher reflectivity shades on this thing. With direct sun the effect is even more pronounced, it's a color I've never really seen on a highrise. I don't know if it's an optical illusion or the actual color.

I don't care if this qualifies as a "humungous building" or whatever that stupid debate was about. The fact is there are very few, if any, places on Earth where a view like that exists. Certainly no place with that variety, size, and quality...

The craziest part is that huge buildings like Aqua and JHC are completely hidden from that angle.

Vista looks huge when viewed from the north or south, but very thin from the east or west -- for example look at the last photo that harryc uploaded in the previous post. Everyone who has posted in this thread loves Chicago, so I am sure no one was bashing Vista in that "debate" about square footage. It was strictly a friendly discussion of facts.

IMO the most impression thing about Chicago's skyline is that it looks so beautiful from almost any angle, and once completed Vista will no doubt further enhance this skyline. At the same time, in Chicago there is no shortage of open space where one can relax and breathe. It's such a well-planned city.

We were in town to see family and went ice skating at the ribbon. Snapped these pics. The glass is really something to behold in person. It's going to be a stunner.

Installation definitely seems to have kicked into higher gear, and I remember reading a month or two back from a reputable source here that the delay will not ultimately affect the timeline.

^What's interesting to me is that they still don't have a full floor complete in any location. I wonder if they still have issues they are working through that is preventing them from completing a floor. The slab edge covers look to be progressing pretty quickly, which is good. There is a lot of work to get those anchored and installed.
