It's the same developer that did Englewood Square. I wouldn't be surprised to see them get this one built. I would think this would be a significantly less difficult project considering the plans for The Obama Center and for a PGA Championship level golf course in Jackson Park.

Also I count 12 stories for the proposal, not 10, so this technically is a high rise
Developer said 10 stories, so that's what I put down.

That micro-neighborhood desperately needs more residents. If any readers live nearby or are in the 27th Ward (Burnett) please email your support: ward27@cityofchicago.org, or show up the meeting.

Everyone who lives within a stone's throw is a NIMBY who wants the lot to remain empty so their dogs can pee there. Or wants it to be converted into a park. With parking. Some sort of a parking park, ideally.

Holy crap those are some large panels of glass on apple.

On another story...Has anyone been by or looked at the webcam of the new Depaul Wintrust Arena lately? I was just wondering what all the tall scaffolding outside of the the south end was being done for. Lighting for the roof? Unless its not scaffolding and its actually part of the structure?

A pic of Cedar Street's conversion/expansion of the 676 N Lasalle building. Roof's off, lots of extra holes being punched in the sides.

Pic by me

Has Cedar Street began leasing the Bush Temple yet? I see no promotional materials or website and they started on the project over two years ago. I have noticed a pattern of their rehabs taking FOREVER to complete.

Think they'll finish gutting the old building before starting on the new addition?

I believe they have foundation permits for it, but I haven't seen them starting just yet.

Walton & Noble. Designed by Brininstool + Lynch:

Looks like Curbed beat me to posting about another Brininstool + Lynch building planned at Lake & Ada:
http://chicago.curbed.com/2017/3/30/...rtments-office

Also, I noticed that 5th ward alderman Leslie Hairston is attempting to change the zoning for 6 blocks of 71st Street (from Stony Island to Yates Ave) from B3 to RS-3. It would be a real shape to see the entire strip get downgraded to residential when it has the MED running along it. I know that Streetsblog Chicago already designated her as the most auto-centric alderman, so I cannot say that I am surprised by this.

They have a new site. It says "coming soon".

^It probably would be a good idea if I didn't hold my breath waiting for the site based on their previous timelines.

There was a partial demolition permit for 613 W Diversey which is just west of the Inn at Lincoln Park. If you remember from 3 years ago, there was talks about tearing it down for a new 120 room (and around 8 stories) hotel. Is this still in the works? I'm wondering if this is part of the plan.

19 W 16th Street - between Columbia College (State St) and Mariano's in the South Loop is going to be demolished for a new 4 story elementary school. Pretty industrial site. Demo permits were issued on Thursday for it.

Hmmm, might explain why Starbucks moved from that location to down the street.

Hmm, that could be it - the other stores closed there too. However the main length of the hotel would actually run along Lehman Ct so I'm not sure what this is. The permit mentions the building is also known as 2747 N Clark, but it also says partial demolition. So either they're knocking the whole damn thing down as I thought all the stores in this building were closed, or they're just going to knock down the part next to the Inn. The developer of the Inn also owns the 3 flat right south of the Inn and that would be demolished too.

Maybe this:

Billboard stays - would that explain "partial"
