BVictor1's picture is what I was talking about the other day. It's very present from the interstate which is awesome.

I think they're on the 94th floor? If so then it should be topped out within a month I think?

Maybe its the elevation of Vista, but it looks much taller than AON from any angle, even more so than Vistas reported 60 ft height advantage. Vistas location is perfect for the skyline of Chicago. If ever a building fit its location perfectly, this is it, at the confluence of a river and close to the entrance of a great lake...simply astonishing.

The main roof of AON is about 1,120' since the last ~15 feet are reached by the mechanical box on the roof.

Still that's only a 70 foot difference which isn't much at all, but still noticeable from many angles.

A ~1,200 foot roof/fully occupied building is pretty impressive height wise, beautiful building too

My, My ,what a view. Aon and Vista, a marriage made directly from skyscraper heaven. Vista, along with AON has really helped to shift the focus of the skyline eastward.

Not to get off topic but speaking of the BCBS addition, any news of when the northwestern tower is supposed to start?

Simpson Querry phase 2? Don't think there's anything new on that, I don't even know if phase 1 is 100% ready for use yet.

Good point. It's easy to forget that 2 Prudential is technically a supertall as its structural height exceeds 300 m, although in Chicago it doesn't look very prominent as it's eclipsed by nearby Aon, Vista, and Trump Hotel. In most other cities a building like 2 Pru would stand out much more.

I bet after the building is topped out glass installation will speed up significantly. McHugh will throw a lot more manpower into it so they can save face and be done close to on time

^ It's a union project and you're talking about two different trades. Once the superstructure is complete, Masons can't just move down to glass installation. One thing for sure to increase the pace will be improving weather.

this thought is based on what? If manpower and finance and logistics were available now then they would be in use.

Yeah, the wind has been rough lately. The tallest levels they are glazing now are over 400 feet in the air, dealing with <30mph gusts of wind on an average day. I'm sure efco is having a blast swinging those panels around
