Haven't finished edits, but here's a pano of the skyline from Adler. I'm really blown away by how tall Vista appears from this spot. Haven't been out there in a few months. Big difference. May have one or two closer-up shots, and will post once I get it edited.
I run around Shedd Aquarium 3-4 times a week (though certainly not THIS week), so I've seen it grow, and even I am amazed by its presence.

Nick, you should get an updated shot of the tower from its base and do a side-by-side comparison with your 'Shop job when we thought this thing would top out without any glass.

Thanks for the photo, Nick! My only request (next time you're at the Adler) is to include Essex in the pan if possible. I love the skyline height pop is brings.

Stay warm!
I also think it's time to include Nema in the skyline too!

The climbing form appeared to be there this afternoon, so possibly not.

I've probably seen over 10,000 pictures of Chicago viewed from that location, and seen it in person another 1000+ times... but Nick, that may be the best shot yet

I like that perspective looking North from South Columbus Drive (post 5305). The aesthetics and balance relative to the surrounding towers from that perspective really draws the eye as you work your way up Vista.

That's something Chicago is really good at IMO. Incorporating towers into the current skyline, without making them stick out like a sore thumb. A nice balance of height and bulk.

Can't wait to appreciate this tower in all its beauty around early summer when I go for my lakefront runs. From the Field Museum it'll be glorious!

One of the many awesome, minuscule details of this gorgeous heap of steel, concrete, and glass which will be ruined by disappear when people start living inside of it.

Huh? How will the tenants make giant 3' thick concrete walls disappear? There is no space between the glass and concrete, it will be visible forever.

Haha, no not expecting the shear walls to disappear upon move in. Having curtains covering the windows will alter the effect.

Also, not sure why I didn't realize this at first, but the glass installed in front of the concrete is completely opaque, so we aren't actually looking at the walls-just glass. I remember watching them hang those panels.

It's probably not really that transparent. I think bvic might have using a polarizing filter, they essentially remove reflections from transparent surfaces (in addition to boosting saturations of blue and it's color compliments). Vista's glass has a pretty distinctly jewel like quality with a lot of reflection.

It is also why the color gradation between floors looks flatter than normal.
