loopnet.com, the current building at 2088 S Compton Avenue (the rough location of the tanks) was completed in 2003. Addresses in this block are mysteriously absent from the City Directories. The 1956 CD has the following listing for the north-east corner, but that's about it.

It's not clear if Shell owned the whole site or just the top edge. The current business at that address is DeWitt Petroleum, a fleet fuels business whose site stretches along E 20th Street from S Compton Avenue to Long Beach Avenue.
