ok yall, vote tally as far as I can tell

Weekday = 6
Weekend = 4
either = 2
? = 1

so weekday it is.

I'd like the most number or people to attend, so let's vote again for either Wed May 22 or Thursday May 23.

Again, I live at 1906 Hether St 78704. Plenty of street parking.

That is the final vote, lets wrap the votes by this Friday. Don't be lame, if you have to work....that's plenty of time to get your shift covered, or think of a great excuse. I've got Dr buddies who will gladly provide Dr notes.

Beer/wine and light fare on me, and I'm working on a surprise guest or two. Stay tuned.

Wed May 22 4-7p
Thurs May 23 4-7p

Lemmeknow by Friday.

I've got Steve Drenner and Nick Raffaele of the Drenner Group agreed to come on Thursday. They are currently working on entitlements for some exciting (named/unnamed) projects, maybe you can corner them to get more info?

These guys are premier players in the downtown development/entitlement business.

I've reached out to the mayor, and Ann Kitchen, a couple of local architects, a couple of downtown developers too, Aura....etc. Let me know if you have someone you would like to bring or would like me to contact. The more the merrier.

I guess what I'm saying is so far it looks like Thursday is in the lead.

Stay tuned.

Well if you bump the end till 10, then I'm still up for going but wouldn't arrive until 8...

If not, it's cool... It's why I can't enjoy nice things...

yeah, i have no problem with pushing the times around. I figure some people will come later. I would imagine there will be people still at the house past 8.

Thursday is a Council day, so you are not likely to get anybody from City Hall.

well I tried.

due to lack of interest, I'm postponing the happy hour.

This idea has invigorated me though. I like the thought of bringing urban pros all together in a casual setting. So stay tuned, I'll plan future happy hours at my home, and I'll be sure to invite you turd burglars.

I like your continued interest. I suggest you pick a day and time and run with it. Those of us who are free will make it!

As an addition, occasionally there may be impromptu meetups Downtown which Kevin or myself will post a day or two in advance such as the recent visit by Samwill89. These will simply be notices if anyone happens to be free and is interested in going.

Yeah, I know I didn't suggest when I could make it, but I'm open to pretty much whatever day you guys plan, and I'm certainly interested. I love forum meets. I like feeling like I'm only an average nerd for the subject of skyscrapers.

I'm more active in the San Antonio forum, but I'm in Boston anyway so it doesn't matter. But to Kevin's point, before I discovered this forum in about 2001 I felt alone in my skyscraper nerdiness. Glad to know all you other skyscraper nerds are out there.

(On a related note, I joined this forum in 2001. Then after September 11... I was in New York at the time... I took a break because it was just too painful to think about skyscrapers. Eventually I came back in 2003 to find that my account was gone. So I rejoined then. Does anybody why that happened?)

I've heard stories of a forum software upgrade (probably the last one in SSP history) in the early days of SSP that caused user accounts to be deleted. Kevin was affected if I recall correctly, so he should have details.

Server crashes happened to a lot of forums back then. I was deleted off another site around that time.

Yeah, there were a couple of software upgrades and server upgrades back then. The last software upgrade, at least that gave us the forum program we use now, was from July of 2001.

The forum actually dates back to early or mid 1999. I remember reading about and posting about the Texas A&M Bonfire stack collapse that happened in November of that year. That's one thing that sticks out in my mind. The website itself goes back to very early 1998 or late 1997. I know I was already viewing the site as far back as early 1998 at least.

I was a viewer back then too, and I eventually joined in about (I'm guessing ) March 2001. Is there any way of placating my ego and getting my original join date back?
