I think ours will look very nice. It's smaller scale so it fits better with its location, and Lake Flato (the architects) are a very good design firm and I think will produce something beautiful.

Looks like it fits the area quite nicely. Always love Lake Flato's intimate designs and close attention to detail.
Ooh, is that brick I see?

Indeed....architect is Lake Flato, so this will be a top-notch quality building.

I like the scale of this building for the area. I also really like the brick and window treatment shown in the rendering, also those balconies kinda mimic fire escapes. I think this will be good for that stretch of West 6th.

Agreed, this is a nice building and really looks to be the perfect height for the area

I do too but it will transform the neighborhood. Just like Seven forced Rio to turn down the music, and the Westin went after some bars, Star, Concrete cowboy and the rest will need to quiet up a bit. Not sure if that is god or bad?

So the demolition ceremony was just that..a ceremony. There are barricades and signs within the structures so I'm sure actual demo is imminent. Will check back next week.

I hope the hotel will be sound proof. We do not need another Westin debacle when it comes to the surrounding entertainment venues.

They’ve rerouted traffic and fencing is up. Hard to tell if they’ve started demoing but there’s heavy machinery on the lot.
