Nice little read.

On another note, I was curious about noise complaints for guests at the Hotel Indigo next door to this project, so I looked up some of the recent reviews. I thought about this issue because I was recently in Chicago again and many people I had met with complained about area construction, especially with the newest super structure being added to Lakeshore East Park.

I don't think the Hotel Indigo will make it. And this might be a good thing. I have said it many times before, San Antonio has too many hotels, yes, but not enough quality hotels. People are spending the same prices they would for hotels in Chicago and New York and they are not getting the same quality, especially with parking rates between $30-$40 for a night stay - which is typical for any downtown. To that end, why not spend $20-30 more for a better stay? Time will tell with newer, better quality of stay hotels being added to downtown San Antonio.

Looks like they are finishing up level 5. Once they finish level 6, they should be starting on the hotel portion.

Saw construction on this for the first time this morning (not just the cranes) as I was driving to work on 281/37.

It really is making an impression on the area at street level. That stairwell shaft near the pool does look a bit odd, and disjointed as it sticks out too much and isn't really uniformed with the alignment of the building.

... and blocks the view of downtown from the pool area. It doesn't seem to be in the renderings.

Thanks for the picture, Raul. (like button)

Exactly. I didn't see it either. I was happy that it ended at that floor below, but then they started building it. Odd.

Does anybody know about a project just a block north/nw of the Thompson called 'The Richmond'? its a townhome or condo project. Maybe as the name indicates its on Richmond and St. Mary's. Not sure I've seen details about the project on this site, but if anyone has details they could share...?

It's five, 3-story townhomes. It's set up in a pair, pair, single home configuration, however. Perfect for the infill areas in Tobin Hill, it just seems a bit out of place here.

Looks like it's approaching half its height on the southeast end.

Yep. Getting close - they are working on pouring the 9th floor slab (been averaging a floor a week), which is at 122' above street level. Level 20 is at 270' above street.

They just raised the crane about 50 feet or so this weekend, but I anticipate that it will need to be raised again in a few months.

I find myself watching the construction for a bit (or more) each day as our office has a great view of the site.
