Thanks for the updates!
It looks like excavation for the new landmark tower has started, from what I could see as I drove by today.

The final, Harvey-facing phase of Central Green will go before Council in a few weeks, apparently with a pedestrian bridge over Harvey:

Quote:
As construction continues on several sites within the massive Central Green development, one final project still remains to be approved.

Those plans are now expected to reach Kelowna city council in the not-too-distant future.

City planner Lydia Korolchuk says she has been told a new development permit application will likely come to the planning department in early to mid June.

That application had been expected earlier, however, a redesign of a pedestrian overpass from Central Green over the highway forced a delay....

That's a huge development. I hope they treat the Harvey side of the development well. Do they really need a pedestrian overpass there ?

I used to cross there several times a week, it really is a long wait for the lights to change and there have been a few pedestrians hit crossing in the last few years.

It would be nice to see a few 8-10 story developments along that stretch of Harvey and along Clement.

Pedestrian overpass is a great plan. Tons of people risk their lives jay walking across the highway in that spot to get downtown. If you’re at richter or Ellis or Pandosy, it’s easy to just wait for the light but so many people from central green will be tempted to take a short cut downtown, so I think the bridge is a great idea. Makes the development feel much more connected to downtown.

Harvey is a major mental barrier for people wanting to cross into downtown. I agree that the pedestrian overpass is a good idea.

Looking forward to seeing the new application. The original was for two towers, then they resubmitted for a couple of six story buildings. I bet they come back with two midrise buildings.

Probably depends on how sales have gone with the rest of the project.

Excavation work at Landmark VII

Landmark VI

I've been keeping an eye on this proposal over the last few months. Demolition has started on site just this week. A big development for Cawston Avenue, if it goes ahead. Its located between Graham and Gordon on three consolidated lots. There is a similar but smaller proposal on Coronation, one block North.

I live right in this area and much of the developments right now consists of replacing single family homes with fourplexes. There is a development of twenty townhomes on a similar sized land parcel a couple of blocks South at Stockwell and Graham. This whole neighbourhood from Richter out to Gordon will probable see a lot of these developments in the coming years.

Wow, it actually blows my mind how quickly they're moving ahead with Landmark VII! Love the newly added market as well, really creates a modern, urban hub with a pedestrian focus. It still amazes me a city of this size will have two prominent skylines in a couple of years.

Count me as another one that had no idea how far along Landmark VII prep is. They want that up as fast as possible it seems.

The tower is going to add a nice layer to the cityscape coming in to the city from the westside and coming down from Black Mountain.

I was just perusing Westcorp’s website trying to find information on their downtown waterfront hotel and came across an interesting link that they are going to be re-developing the Hiawatha mobile home park on Lakeshore in Lower Mission - Hallelujah!

https://www.westcorp.net/properties/...d-development/

It’s always struck me how such a prime piece of Kelowna real estate could remain basically derelict for so long while other high end developments were constructed all around it.

Edit: Apparently this is old news. My bad.

I wish they would install more live construction camera's around the city like they did with the OCI Haha

Castanet's live cams are too far away, but still give a glimpse of the changing skyline

That webcam is awesome, great find! I'd love to set one up on my roof, maybe I'll look into it!

Here's a shot of Ella from Knox Mountain:

Looks like that large stretch of vacant land along Clement Ave next the RCMP building is quickly moving ahead now! About time. Construction beginning next month.

Looking forward to seeing that project start, that site has been empty for many years.

One Water Street West

One Water Street East - looks like they are on floor 5 right now.

One Water Street site overview.

Ella - on floor 16 or 17 right now.

I stopped by Brooklyn but there is not much to see, piles are finished but no concrete work underway yet. Will check back again next week.
