You guys are all insane. It's going to look super dope especially with the level of customization and animation of the new LED lighting. The damn stadium already seats more than 100k. It can afford to lose out on a few hundred seats.

Scoreboards don't "move" for a reason. For one...they are not one single view board. It's a symbiotic relationship between several separate boards placed next to one another.
Well then for me, I'd rather not have a huge board that plays stupid ads all day long. You go to the game for the gameday atmosphere and to see it live. If I want to watch the game on a TV, I'll stay on my couch. Just my opinion.

Then maybe keep your eyes on the field and not on the board?

Meh whatever. I'd still prefer a closed bowl like this.

A closed bowl is too claustrophobic where from seeing a game at Ohio St. plus don’t want to block the view of the capital from section 120.

I believe the board has new panels. The others were 11 year old Daktronics.

let me let you in on a lil secret. the panels are the exact same panels used on the Godzilla tron. its actually slightly smaller than the old godzilla tron because some of the old panels are not going to be used.

That's not possible without bulldozing the entire UT football training facility.

That would cut off a lot of breeze circulation.

That was the plan (demolishing the football facility). The model in that picture was from the early part of the 1990's. It was UT's first plan on bowling-off the south end zone which would have yielded 115,000-120,000 seats.

Too many seats would almost never be filled, especially the way the last 10 years have gone.

The final row of the center videoboard is going up today. It looks like the new center board is 4 square panels smaller than the old board. It'll be joined by the 2 side video boards though which will be a big net gain if you forget that they are probably going to have ads up all game.

They should put those two side video boards on big drones and have giant pop-up ads.
