Love me some Taco Bell. I wish they opened up more in Metro Vancouver.

^ When I was younger I used to occasionally visit Taco Bell on trips to the US just out of sheer fascination with getting lunch for like $2.50.

I'm wondering if Tim's will soon see a similar type competitor rise but with improved differences because Tim's coffee and food are terrible and likely won't be popular with the upcoming generation.

Are there any regional or local chains in Canada that have the potential to do so?

Omg, had to laugh at the article once read about the blueberry muffin in how it looks in description by the product tester. Also with Tim's being the only place open on graveyard shift, I can personally attest that the new Tim bit is the bomb, yet it being weird in name!

A&W should introduce donuts now that they're open 24hrs everywhere in Toronto.

I found that so strange when I was there.

The A&W near me closes at 9pm and it often decides to close before that time.

You'd think the chain because it's Vancouver-based would come out with some better drink options (something similar to McCafé products in McDonald's) and also some desserts. But maybe they don't want to get complicated so I guess someone else will have to step up.

I ordered from there for delivery today because that's what my young daughter chose. She enjoyed her spaghetti but I didn't enjoy my meal. Barely anything is actually made on site. It's the Tim Hortons of "Italian" restaurants. Their menu is really lacking in anything interesting as well besides the stuff not actually being made there.

Don’t forget the tacky “Italian” decor. Provided by the good folks at Cara responsible for dreck like Montanas Cookhouse and Kelseys Roadhouse.

You can only roll up your cup, tear off a winner and redeem it for two weeks starting March 11.
You've got to have a Tims Rewards account and internet access to play for all four weeks.
So if you're not good with technology, you're mostly out of luck.

Sounds like even less motivation to go to Tim's for a "coffee"...

Tim's is the closest place to order food from my office. I have a very busy job and don't want to walk more than one minute and don't want to wait in line. Plus I don't want to spend too much. So I order lunch for $5 1-2 times using the app for pickup every week.

Since the update a couple of weeks ago, the Lunch option shows up blank but everything else works fine. And since it was an update, my recent orders were blank. So 3-4 times I didn't go when I would have normally. It was impossible to order lunch on the app.

Today for some reason is the first day it started working on my phone.

Tim's is getting so much bad press lately, much of it self inflicted. And the general sentiment is that it just doesn't feel Canadian anymore. It's not nearly what it used to be.

I actually like their donuts and muffins (for the price paid - can't compete with in-house donuts), the few food items I get are passable (chili is excellent value), and I love their colour scheme and decor. I find the outside and inside to be inviting for what it is.

But ever since a Brazilian company took over, instituted all kinds of changes and cost cutting measures, etc., moved HQ from Oakville to a DT office building and introduced a bajillion new and experimental items, the risk of alienating your base was always going to be there.
